We will get stronger going forward under the new management structure, it is just two years too late.
Yeah about the money and not having it enough. Last summer we got more money than we spent. This winter we sold Walcott and Coquelin, so more money in our bank. And as you said we were after Lemar and offered 100m, and now they say that if we buy Auba we won't be able to buy anymore players.

I'd assume is beacuse of wages and not actual signing fees.
Although Walcott and Sanchez should have cleared up some.
Wage structure is mandated by the premier league and not on how much the club has to spend.
Yet we always seem willing to give average players big wage deals, which always means they’re really hard to sell on. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Iwobi give 80k+ deal
It All does seem a bit thrown together. Mhki or aubameyang arent really a Sanchez replacement. If we got Aubameyang, then not really sure how we’re meant to fit everyone in. Suppose Aubameyang will have to go wide, unless we’re dropping Lacazette. But won’t be surprised if we don’t pay up for Aubameyang anyway and it’s like a Lemar situation again.
On paper having those 2 new players could help us a lot with creating and scoring more. But the real problem lies in DM and in defence. However so long as wenger is in charge we’ll never have a proper DM, and solid defence. Hopefully in the summer when a new manager comes in, his priority can be sorting us out defensively.
Premier League has mandated a small rise in wages per season to avoid inflation prices. So that would be ok for most because they have players signed on long term contracts. Wenger however doesn't believe in giving long contracts. So we can't afford to give new contracts because the demands are higher but the wages can't increase as whole above the mandated amount. Add to that players like Giroud, BFG, etc. who are 30+ on huge wages doing nothing and we get stuck trying sign new players like auba without first getting rid.
We've just cleared about 400k a week off the wage bill so in theory we could get 2 top players in.

Keep in mind Wilshere and Ozil's new contracts.
Alexis wages at Arsenal = Mkhi's wages at Arsenal.
The fortuitous acquisition of Mkitayan, is what it is. Fortuitous, not planned. Where does he fit in?
------------------------------------------------------------------
With Ozil behind the striker in the 3-4-2-1 you play. Mkhitaryan's like Pedro, he's an intelligent player above any other trait like size, speed or skill. If Pedro fits into that system for us, Mkhitaryan will fit into it for you.
Under the circumstances you couldn't have got a better deal. Should've sold Sanchez long ago/resigned him three years ago, but what was done is done, you couldn't have hope for a better outcome this month
I agree with the OP, Mkhitaryan looks good for Arsenal but that was lucky, the whole thing is a shambles.
Wenger is past it, most of his back room are useless (what does Steve Bould DO ?), Gazidis is a clown (keeps talking about pride every season as Arsenal decline), the board with the likes of Chips Keswick are smug & incompetent & Silent Stan is just trying to use the club as his main financial asset.
It’s hard to see how things will get better in the short term...
