Actually the whole thing is a bit daft what with the protests and everything.
I believe everyone should be paid a living wage, if firms paid a living wage then the 80% low paid workers wouldn't have to depend on the state to boost their income.
However you cant take players wages as part of a pay structure.
Best way it was explained to me was that if this was a manufacturing company no one would complain about a firm buying a machine for £30M if it created a profit for the company. It would be regarded as a working asset and that's exactly what players are. They are the machine that makes the product, the production line starts with them. If you buy a better machine to get one up on your competitors that's what you do and increase productivity in the form of points and trophies.

I don’t know what’s funnier, City fans lecturing others on not paying tax or a Liverpool fan lecturing other people on class. Plenty of comedy on a Friday morning.

Think city pay tax, don’t think pool do. We need to sort that and stop shirking it, scuummy for any club that does it.

Not sure that’s true. Indeed a quick google suggested they do, and that it is UTd through dodgy loop holes are avoiding it, which is out of order.

The link said we paid nothing via a loophole and that saints and West Ham were particularly bad. Not a mention of city.
West Ham were raided by the tax investigators last year weren’t they.
Uniteds loophole is to use the debt to dodge paying corporation tax.
I wonder how many millions they have failed to pay.
They should be made to back pay ever last penny they owe.

Nah just that they have no problem ripping off the people of England whilst boasting about the money they make.
For the people of the Cayman Islands.

City earned £20M pre tax profits in 2016. Seems the FT think we pay tax but they probably know less thean Ruiney.
...
You earned £19.5m pre tax and £20.5m after tax. You actually received money from the tax man, you didn’t pay any.
Because of huge losses that your club racked up over the years through huge investment that was way above what your club could have afforded.
These losses can be brought forward, you still don’t pay tax on profits.
You don’t pay corporation tax
At all
Pathetic

Ruiney is technically correct but to receive a refund you must have paid tax at some point to HMRC in the previous years.
Mr Chelsea thanks, I knew that but tbh can't be arrased to argue with people who wouldn't recognise the truth if it goes against them.
We paid £17m tax last year on our profits.
Man City don't even give youth a chance to experience the bench. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/29326/11234431/gary-neville-criticises-pep-guardiola-for-naming-only-six-substitutes-against-burnley

Wenger also suggested Sanchez was on more money than what’s being reported.
