its even hard to replace squad players nowadays. we'd have to spend as much as we paid for him or more for a player of his standard or higher
Dont really rate him but to be honest, I haven't seen enough of him. I wouldn't mind keeping him as a squad player but who would we replace him with that doesn't cost us an arm and a leg?

That’s the problem anyone better will cost £40m+ and isn’t likely to be a starter anyway.
I think they 5 we have now is probably as good as we could get with all offering something slightly different.
If we keep the whole squad together this summer then we only need to upgrade on Llorente & Sissoko.
Llorente upgrade is a difficult one as in reality it’s got to be a young striker or one coming to the end as no one in peak will fancy it.
Sissoko need to be upgraded into a creative CM ( a Barkley type that can do both CM & AM )
Sessegnon. Punt on Dembele. Eriksen competition and we're set in the summer.
Give me Lamela as a squad player and occasional starter over Moussa Sissoko any day of the week. He had a few heavy touches yesterday but was well involved throughout the whole game. He scored a decent goal and is a right pain in the a** to the opposition with his constant pressing. No doubt keep him and offer him a new contract.
Both different types of players Don
Lamela was one of our best players for a period before his injury and the other problems he's suffered like his brother being paralysed and childhood dog dying.
He is more creative than Dele Alli who despite some seriously poor performances still gets 90 minutes and the backing of fans. We need to try and keep all of our players if possible and it creates positive competition.

Totally agree. Sissoko for a technical CM And Llorente for a fast young striker would be perfect.
Considering our budget and wage structure
Kane
Llorente
Alli
Eriksen
Son
Sissoko
Moura
Is as handy a front 7 as we are ever going to get. Need to make the most of this squad this season. I don’t think they’ll all be there next season. Kids Like Marcus Edwards and Onomah should have been making statements this year but it doesn’t seem likely.

Agree with Boss by Hugo. Before his injury, Lamela was one of the first names on the teamsheet. I distinctly recall his absence in games against the top 4 costing us dearly. And who can forget when he was subbed off against arsenal only to concede minutes from the side he so well martialed. Before he got injured he was scoring and getting assists on a regular basis.

Am I the only one who thinks Lamela wasn't actually that good before his injury?
I mean, he was good, but not as good as people are making out.

precisely and maybe a young left back as danny rose is a crock and could be allowed to leave

Last night, Lamela looked to have regained a lot of confidence in his injury, he was almost back to his old self.
I like him, he provides good competition for Eriksen and has a brilliant work ethic, he always puts in a shift and before his injury Lamela was the man who usually set the tone for our aggressive pressing. He also has that ability to see a defence splitting pass and is an alternative dead ball taker.
Keep him and offer a new deal all day long in my opinion, as long as he proves his fitness, which I think he is well on the way to doing. He`s still just 25, the best is yet to come.
Keep him. That area of the pitch is now strong.
CM is a far more pressing need this summer
I would absolutely keep him, very good squad player
If I was him I would leave tho. At his age he should be a starter elsewhere and re-start his career
Definitely 1 to keep.
I never warmed to him as a 'winger' in the 4231, although he grew in to the role and did a job.
I would like to see him given games as Eriksen's rest at 10. It was his position pre-Europe after all.
I would REALLY like to see him given some time in central midfield though. I have had a feeling for some time he would flourish there
