I agree with the first part but not the second!

Don't really like him as a person (but havent met him ) however as an athlete and all time boxer I am in awe

I haven't seen any of the reports regarding Mayweather fighting in MMA but it will never ever happen. Mayweather would get utterly destroyed within 1 round, especially against Conor.

And I'm the guy who posted the article back in February last year saying that we would probably get a Mayweather Vs McGregor boxing contest when everyone was saying it wouldn't happen.

A boxing fight between the two of them was always within the realms of possibility because Mayweather would still be in his element with everything as he likes it. Nothing had to change for him. McGregor also had experience in boxing albeit never as a pro, making a fight between them an outside possibility that became a reality.

By contrast Mayweather in an MMA contest turns everything on it's head. Mayweather has zero MMA combat experience, that we know of anyway. He'd be totally out of his element in an octagon fighting under a totally foreign rule set, making this fight a non-starter.

As a PPV it would sell a huge number I’d have thought, which raises the question of what would Mayweather do for money. Would he be prepared to be taken down and punched in the face until the ref calls it off for 50/60/70m?

It’s not likely but I wouldn’t rule it out completely. Mayweather does love attention and money...

Yep he does. Which makes me think his brags about how his "smart investments" earning him 7 figures sums every month, aren't real at all. If he was doing what he said and invested his money into property and business and they're earning him returns then he doesn't need another 100m. Unless of course those claims are bogus and he is spending at a faster rate than he is earning. After all, there were strong rumours the reason he came back after one of his umpteen retirements for the Marquez fight I think was because he had tax issues. Who knows eh.

If Mayweather had lost a boxing fight before and wasn't undefeated i could definitely see him doing it, purely for the money as it would pretty much take him to billionaire status. But he's an arrogant git who does not like losing at all, and there's pretty much a 99% chance he would lose a UFC fight and he doesn't do losing in his head so he won't take the risk

Just doing it to stay relevant and keep his name in the media grabbing headlines
