Benn CV is pretty underwhelming. Loads of journey men and has beens. The top WW are not even remotely interested in him. He was begging to fight Khan and Brook before they retired.

He has done really well to blag himself a fight like this. Clearly more down to the dads than anything.

You're talking about the old Jr, who went toe to toe with guys. This new version under Roy Jones, likes to box smart and strategically. He isn't great at doing them but that's his approach.

Benn comes forward but not recklessly and he's actually quick and has good head movement.

I'm favouring Benn by decision.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
he does that cos he moved up in weight he was fighting bigger guys so had to be a little more coy about how he goes about it.

Benn is being way way overated and (an equally overated Eubank) deals with him comfortably.

Eubank by stoppage in under 10.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bigger guys? He just fought Liam Williams at 160 and he boxed on the backfoot. Under Roy Jones, this is the style he now uses.

The only people that overrate Benn is Eddie Hearn and Matchroom. Most fans are well aware of Benns lack of experience at the top level. It's the same with Jr. Nobody actually rates him highly anymore. They just consider him a solid fighter who will always lose against the top tier guys.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
haha I didnt even realise that Jnr had dropped back down to MW thought he was still campaigning at SMW!

Eubank will still be the bigger guy in this fight. I just thikn we have seen guys that are not big hitters and prob less power than Eubank tbf stun, wobble and drop Benn so I cant see any different here. Benn will have joy in the opening few rounds then Eubank batters him IMO.

I think its a huge mistake by Benn on the basis of I think Eubank sparks him.

Eubank would not have agreed to the fight if he didnt feel he was gonna win it ... Benn I think is chasing the payday cos they know his limitations.

The dads is the only reason this fight will sell.

I think it's a win win for Benn.

If he loses: He still gets paid and he lost to 160lber.
If he wins: It's the best win of his career and he defied the odds and defeated the bigger man. And he gets paid.

Either way, regardless of the outcome, I think the build up and the actual fight should be entertaining enough. Is it worth paying for, probably not but it's still a great domestic dust up.

its more an entertaining fight tha a fight that actually means anything ... you know the dads are gonna be in the build up to this fight more than the fighters

I know some people have an issue with it but I think it's a good domestic fight. There are no titles on the line either so go ahead.

I figured it would be on PPV.. not that would stop me watching it though

It's DAZN PPV. They needed something to sell after AJ vs Usyk went to Sky.

I suspect you can but there may be an increase on the PPV charge.

Wow

Fury vacates ring magazine title

Now on the line for Usyk AJ

posted on 13/8/22

Let me guess, he's retiring for the 100th time.

Great boxer but wildly inconsistent with what he says. A walking contradiction.

posted on 13/8/22

Yeh we know, but surprised he’s vacating, usually just talks the BS

posted on 13/8/22

I need to see something official before I believe he has actually vacated.

posted on 13/8/22

It's also notable that he has vacated the ring title but not the actual WBC world title

Whatevs. Retire and stay retired Fury, just stop talking about it. The heavyweight division will continue and someone else will likely go one step further than Fury ever did in this era and become the actual undisputed Heavyweight champion of the world. Maybe Usyk if he wins this rematch as he's said that was his aim.
