I need to see something official before I believe he has actually vacated.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is official, the ring have said Usyk AJ is for the ring magazine

He hasn’t vacated WBC probably because he gets a year before it becomes vacated

Whatevs. Retire and stay retired Fury, just stop talking about it. The heavyweight division will continue and someone else will likely go one step further than Fury ever did in this era and become the actual undisputed Heavyweight champion of the world. Maybe Usyk if he wins this rematch as he's said that was his aim.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He only fought like 2 months ago Lol he’s just saying it so he gets more ££££ for Usyk AJ winner as he’ll say he wants more to “bring him out of retirement”, he’s not going to say he wants the undisputed fight, he has to pretend he has zero interest so he can command more £££.

Probably vacated the ring just to try sell it even more

I think we can at least agree, that Fury will box again.

Hopefully AJ beats Usyk and we get the biggest fight in UK boxing, in 2023.

I'm just tired of hearing about it mate. The guy's got enough money already. He's even said that himself.

WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman has declared that they've given Tyson Fury two weeks (until Aug 26th) to confirm his retirement in writing as a final decision. If he does this, they will then address the situation with the WBC heavyweight world title. [

Outside a controversial decision, no.

The rematch clause is only for the first fight.

Usyk is current Heavyweight Champ and rightfully so after schooling AJ over 12 rounds, so if he loses his belts to AJ I'd imagine he gets a chance to win them back.

Only scenario I don't see that happening is if AJ demolishes Usyk and Fury decides not to relinquish his WBC belt. Other than that no.

I've wanted Fury vs AJ as much as anyone if not more but I seriously doubt we ever see it.

No.

As I stated, there is no rematch clause for the rematch. If AJ wins a decision, he doesn't have to give Usyk anything. Actually, if AJ wins, people will be calling for Fury and Usyk will have to work his way back up again. It may seem unfair but that's how it works.

Exactly.

If AJ wins, he moves onto the biggest fight in world boxing. Fury vs AJ.

Different kettle of fish though. Ruiz was a virtual nobody when he beat AJ and the rematch was easy work for AJ. There was no call for a third fight. Nobody was interested.

Usyk is the complete opposite of that. Pound for pound one of the best in the sport and probably the greatest cruiser ever. He doesn't just go away if AJ wins their second fight, regardless of no rematch clause.

AJ destroying Usyk in the rematch is the only scenario I see a third fight not getting made should AJ win.

posted on 14/8/22

If AJ wins a UD, why would he rematch Usyk, when the fans would be calling for the Fury fight?

Usyk can take a fight against another heavyweight.

Because Fury is retired or so he keeps saying. If you're assuming that Fury doesn't vacate his WBC title in two weeks time then that's a different conversation. One that I'm not considering as I'm tired of Fury's constant retirement talk. Retire then and stay retired.

But even if Fury isn't lying and he actually doesn't vacate or retire then I don't think that AJ vs Fury definitely happens just if AJ wins this rematch. It's not that simple regardless of clauses or lack thereof.

If it's a really close fight for example then there would have to be a third fight before AJ Fury can happen.

posted on 14/8/22

Bringing up Fury retiring is irrelevant because we know he's just trying to attention seek.

As of now, Fury still has the WBC title and it's highly likely that he will have it in 2 weeks.

I already said, outside of a controversial decision, AJ will not fight Usyk again, if he wins.

Let me put in simple terms.

If AJ wins this fight and people do not call it a robbery, AJ will fight Fury for undisputed.

If AJ wins this fight and it's a clear robbery, they will fight again.

Fight week has begun

Predictions for the fight?

posted on 15/8/22

I think the weigh in will be interesting. Usyk seems to have put on a considerable amount of size, but how much has he actually put on.

posted on 15/8/22

Usyk to give AJ another boxing lesson - feel AJ lost a lot of his hunger for the sport a few years ago, and hasn't really looked the same since his loss to Ruiz

posted on 15/8/22

I think the desire has certainly diminished but that was inevitable, due to the money and wealth. The best fighters are able to adapt and find new challenges. Let's see if AJ is one of those fighters.

Canelo is a good example.

He has become the cash cow in boxing but continues to win titles and beat the best guys around.
