Pep should have been charged for his behavior vs Wigan so he’s getting off lightly when you look at the bigger picture
I understandwhy the FA does not political statements associated with English football.
But the Catalonian politicians are imprisoned for supporting an election, and to vote is a form of expression; in affect they have been imprisoned for supporting free speech.
If a British citizen, resident or even visitor to our shores, is not free to express his support of free expression, then we have a problem.
I know most of you have been disagreeing with me on this, but if a business or organization can legally use their influence to undermine the fundamental human right, on which all over human rights rest; the laws on free speech have to be changed to preserve their intention x
Furthermore I genuinely believe that the Spanish government has leaned on the Spanish FA and UEFA, whom are leaning on the English FA to take this action.
In affect, a foreign government is silencing the speech of a British resident.
That is unacceptable, and we should all be extremely outraged x
I don't agree with this at all, Its peps views and he should be allowed to express them at his place of work... And before anyone says he can express it just outside of football then why do PL players get forced to wear poppies or face media and public rage.

they supported an illegal election, with no secure ballots or independent adjudicators ..they funded said election with pubic funds
they have been charged with sedition, rebellion and embezzling public funds
they are politicians who have committed crimes , not "political prisoners"
Guardiola himself is guilty of rebellion imo

Just to begin my nailing my colours to the mast here, I totally support Catalonia's right to self-determination.
I also strongly disagree with ham-fisted approach taken by Spain's right-wing nationalist parties, and think the whole Catalan issue should and could have been approached very differently.
That said, it is also absolutely true that the political representatives of Catalan indepndentism have forced the central government's hand by breaking all kinds of laws.
It has to be perfectly clear that taken to its ultimate consequences, the confrontation these people are seeking could become so serious as to descend into a civil war.
The issue might be seen by left- or right-wingers elsewhere as a nice little point-scoring exercise, but it's potentially a hugely grave affair for Spaniards of all persuasions.
Also, I'd kindly request people to call things by their name. The current government of Spain is not Spain, nor does it represent all Spaniards by any stretch - in EXACTLY the same way as the current government of Catalonia does not represent all of Catalonia nor all Catalans.
Broadsided character assassinations can be very hurtful and offensive in what really is a highly sensitive issue.
Slippery slope here. What if he was supporting the RA or ETA back in the day, maybe these are unfair comparisons, but that's probably what the FA is thinking. Personally I think it's BS, especially for such a small and rather innocuous ribbon. If it was something like a flag, maybeso, but a small yellow ribbon? The FA has it's head well up it's posterior again.

The FA have been pressured into making this decision, 100%
Earlier this Spain's gov't pressed the organisers of Madrid's modern art fair into taking down an exhibit of photos of Spain's 'political prisoners'.
There are most definitely quasifascist elements in the government, no doubt about it.
