In response to the EFL communication issued on Thursday, Wolves have released the following statement:

From what I've seen this season I would rate our performance against Villa in the reverse fixture as our overall best. We absolutely murdered them for the full 90 mins and should have had more.

Bonatini must start as although he winds me up with his reluctance to shoot he links up wonderfully with the others. Just get a goal man!

Batth did fine last night but Bennett has been fantastic all season and would be very harsh for him to be dropped again.

Saiss or N'Diaye - whoever compliments Neves best against a decent Villa midfield. I would think Saiss but fine with either.

I'd go for that selection too RJ. Bennett must have done something wrong against Fulham for him be dropped, but he's been solid all season. Not sure he's any worse than Batth going forward either. Remember his last gasp goal against Bristol City. Ironically Batth also scored in the first game against the same side to make it 3-3 (85 min).

I'm sure it's a position Nuno willl be looking to strengthen next season, so for me I'd prefer Bennett, but not too worried if Batth starts, provided he keeps his head, as we cannot afford to play Villa with 10 men.

It doesn’t take much to work out why Bennett’s out and Danny’s in surely ?

I am worried about Batth losing his head too. He has been sent off once in 260 games so clearly there is a massive risk in playing him

It does for a man who can’t work out why the club would want to sign a proven Championship goal scorer.

I think this will be a feisty match being a local derby and Saiss is one booking away from a suspension too.

When Bennett has played, we've kept 13 clean sheets, but like I said, I'm not bothered which one plays, as we're probably going to strengthen that position in the summer.
