Virgil, you've spent the day having a dig at our club, I think you are not over losing to us yet.

Dig a Jose not your club your manager was the one who had a dig at your club not me

Jose spent 12 minutes having a 'meltdown'. You've spent half the day posting about it, or having a 'meltdown' as. I think of it.

Been on and off just debating the biggest story on the sports channels at the moment.. Sorry if your upset in any way shape or form 😂

Not totally upset, I've not seen Jose yet because, of course it's not. On French TV, but I'll get round to it. But had a nice meal, watched Maison 5 France, read articles on here, posted on Budapest, and was surprised to find you still here posting about, we'll nothing much really. But I'm touched by your concern.

All the scousers on here must still be hurting from last week's embarrassing defeat, to be so completely obsessed with Jose's press conference. Take it at face value, lads, as just an attempt to deflect criticism from the team. Think he's succeeded there!

the guy is an absolute c -nut. United now pay him his ridiculous wage to broadcast to the world how much he thinks United are a small time club. Why do they give him a microphone.

Nah, I think it's been a half day tantrum left over from last weekend, the likes of which we haven't seen on here since the 2013 breakdown of SayMyName. He never recovered.

His paragraph around leaving the next manager with players like Matic shows he probably doesn't expect to be around too long.

I noticed that as well.

I understood that as him just giving an example of football heritage, and what kind of team a manager inherits i.e. mentality.

I haven't commented today as I hadn't seen/ heard the presser.

Watched the uncut version on mutv now and as someone who never wanted him as manager and have said I wouldn't be sad to see him go , I have to say I got it.

This was no meltdown this was bang on

I kind of get where Jose is coming from but also Busby where he says it's not about just results. It's a definite switch up though because he's felt he's had to validate himself at length where as usually he'd just make a flippant, condescending quip that was generally fairly nasty! Still box office though clearly.

I think maybe he feels a bit under appreciated, a bit like Hodgson with us (his football was sh!t too). Everyone knows the fans at Chelsea and Real are not like Utd and Liverpool. You don't get a family feel or any sense of loyalty towards a manager and they get through them like smarties. Rafa out signs on game day one ffs!

So he's saying he won trophies ten months ago which is a fair point. He's also reiterated, again, thats he's at Utd for the long hop and again that his relationship with the key board members is strong. A fair point seeing as they extended his contract.

I dont think he's gone about it well though as it's more or a less a "Yeah? Well fvck off".

I have absolutely no idea which Utd side will turn up in the cup but it's a big game for him.

You fell for it hook line and sinker then....

Jose’s ‘eritage’ is a club that only spent about £150m in the two seasons before he walked through the door. A paltry sum. This is football ‘eritage’.

His ‘eritage’ is also a club that has spent 20 years at the top table of European football, playing some of the best attacking football ever seen in the PL and winning a leagu title in 2013 with a team far more worse than he has now. This is football ‘eritage’

This is one of the if not the richest club in the entire world. Under his stewardship they have spent the kind of money on individual players that would make Guardiola blush. £90m on one central midfielder. £70m on a striker. Yet despite that Mourinho is dressing this up as some kind of mid table club having a re-build.

This is football ‘eritage’

Can't disagree with any of that

Jose is talking absolute bollox and trying to deflect the utter Sheite football we produce week in week out. He has no excuses whatsoever IMO. He has under performed at United since he has being here due to the amount of money spent. Let's not flower it up because of the Europa league because let's be fair. No can deny that was probably the easiest route to a European final you could ever have

The difference that shines through in Mourinho's presser is his character and determination, and his ability to produce a compelling speech.

It's a very stark contrast to Moyes admitting he was afraid of the fans' reaction if he subbed an injured Van Persie.

I find the football Mourinho serves up totally loathesome, and always thought his first game managing Madrid was a game too many, but I can understand why he is able to win over a club's hierarchy.

If I were a United fan I'd probably have been against his appointment from the get-go, but that's because of my own order of priorities for what I'd like from my club. I can understand why results-first fans would see it otherwise though.

The pitfall is that there isn't a single manager in the world, not even Mourinho, who will always get the results.

It's the precise reason he's always been a short term
manager. Either he's been astute enough to make a move in time, or he's been hounded out because the football itself and his own sourness when results don't come make for a totally unpalatable combination.

I'm much more on bandido's side - good football will generally reap better rewards. Not only that, but in the event of it not quite working out, at least the ride is a hell of a lot more fun.

He says he respects the fans and the club but starts slating the clubs record in Europe dating back past 2008 bit disrespectful to Sir Alex surely?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No he started from 2012 as before that we had reached 3 finals in 4 yrs. picks and chooses his dates to suit his agenda. Why the hell go back only 7 yrs. plus he forgets the 2013 defeat when he was manager of Madrid we were cheated and were by far the better team
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Conveniently he ignores his own record since 2012 which has got progressively worse:

2012 - Semi final
2013 - Semi final
2014 - Semi final
2015 - Last 16
2016 - sacked before the last 16
2017 - won the Europa
2018 - last 16

To have dig at the club your manager of not winning the CL enough times and bringing into it the most respected figure in the clubs history’s record in the CL is going to cause the most disruption in the club.. If I was Sir Alex listening to that I would want him out now and be offended by his remarks and comparisons..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How prophetic is this? It turns out that SAF told the board that something needs to change after the Sevilla defeat.
