Wow, Donaldo, you must have been up late!

I'll give my predictions when I get up in the morning. Are 800 really going from Donny?

Could there be a greater attraction in Blackpool on a Bank Holiday afternoon greater than the visit of Doncaster Rovers? The local conurbation is richer in football teams than it is in supporters with Fleetwood just up the road and AFC Fylde a few miles inland. That any of them are able to sustain their status reflects well on the management of their apparently paltry resources. And obviously there is the poisonous relationship between fans and owners in Blackpool’s case on top of all that and very poor attendances as a result.

Mr Bowyer may not be the most exciting man to hear interviewed, but up against this most unfavourable situation his achievements and longevity compared with predecessors are considerable.

He admires the way we play football, but warns that the pitch there will be a far-from-ideal surface, so it may not be an ideal stage for Copps and his skills As well as this rather unfavourable factor we do not have the best record against them home or away. It will be most suited to McCollough and Marquis who is now free of the worry of another booking and a ban. He did admit that some of his bookings were “silly” and being better behaved has led to him starting to score again, so perhaps there is a lesson there.

I haven’t listened to DF’s pre-match conference yet, but apart from Anderson, he will have a full squad to choose from for the first time this season, so quite a change for the better.

He has said already that he will start with Baudry and Wright and presumably Blair and I hope that he chooses Beestin rather than Kiwomya.

As for the attendance 3600 is my best guess.

Took hours to get here this morning, bags in hotel, quick pint or two before KO. Had to buy tickets at their ground as the 800 we had been given had already sold out. Spoke to lady in office, she said they've sold around 50 this morning. Would be nice to get a thousand here today but with over 800 is brilliant.
Hopefully we play 4 at the back again, then Marquis n Beeston up front. Think we can carry on our good form but will Fergie change it again.

Good morning from the Left Coast. Over here it is not a holiday and I can only watch the first half as I have to be somewhere else at 4:00 PM your time. They seem to have an attacking set-up - hope Matty can handle the pace of their left side guy. I think we are going to have a good Easter and break the Blackpool curse, and I'm with Mooligan at Blackpool 1-2 Rovers. Crowd 3991, but Copps to score.

Rovers to win 3.1 Marquis first goal. Crowd 4007.

From the commentary Blackpool were poor and lacked energy in the first half, but were purposeful in the first 20 minutes of the 2nd and may have gone ahead after their (deserved) equaliser with Marosi seeming unusually shaky.

Fortunately we survived the burst of energy and then got a set-piece goal with Rowe the man again. Blackpool seemed deflated by that and it seemed fairly comfortable from then on.

Perhaps we also had the luck for once too, but the highlights may well provide an answer.

Brilliant to get the points and to Tommy for his brace! A strong 900 following was also there to witness a great 3 points. Up to 13th now we continue like this we may sneak into the top 10

I saw the game up to the equalizer. Marosi was a little slow to move across and left a big gap to the near post, but otherwise he was worth his wages just for his great save of the header early in the second half. When I had to leave I was a little worried as we had let Blackpool back in to the game.
Whether it was the cow pasture pitch causing the ball to bobble I do not know, but in the second minute Marquis played a great ball to Copps who somehow could not control it and the ball went out for a goal kick, and about seven minutes later Marquis completely miss-kicked on a good shooting chance. I was a little worried at times that the Rovers were trying too much to play attractive on the ground football that in some areas was somewhat risky.
If we can take out Wimbledon on Monday I'll feel happy and safe.

It might have been the pitch that caused the ball to bounce awkwardly in front of the keeper for the winning goal because it certainly looked like their keeper should have done better.
Another good three points and no coincidence that Copps has played the last three full matches and we have won two and drawn one.
Hopefully we can keep this good run going, it would be nice to end the season with a flourish for a change.

Nookie,
My wife, a retired University Professor of English (a British subject, not American), wonders if you were an English Major (a USA term meaning your main study at Uni was English) with your play on words.
We both enjoy the banter on here, and sometimes it is very funny.
Thanks to all of you.

Micky, my main studies at Uni were how much booze my grant would buy, playing rugby on Wednesday afternoons and parties at the weekend. A definite miss spent youth, to a certain degree!

In the blinkered eyes of the home support, the first half was dull. The extended highlights show that Blackpool were certainly dull, but totally outplayed by Rovers who were not, passing the ball as well as I’ve seen them this season. There were signs of effort from the home team after half time, but we seemed to be a class above them, cruising up the field at will. The Blackpool manager failed to see anything wrong with the tackle that took Marquis’s legs from under him and led to the free kick and the second goal. Is it not well established that tackles which involve propelling the ball indirectly, that is actually propelling the opponent’s legs into the ball, contravene the Laws of the Game?

It was a Good Friday and it augurs well for the run-in.

No one guessed the crowd would be so numerous, so unusually, no points were scored. Mickey extends his led at the top with everything about the outcome correct apart from the scorer. Normally more go for Rowe, but this time, it was me on my own.

Don, you may not know this, but the Blackpool playe4 who fouled Marquis, leading up to the free kick for our goal, has had more bookings than any other player in our division. Fifteen I think.

posted on 31/3/18

Perhaps he has been relying solely on his manager to advise him on what constitutes a foul tackle.

What do you think of Beestin Hound? His touch back to Marquis when off balance after being tackled showed real class.

The other real prospect from last season, Mandeville, has had a raw deal at Colchester. I don't think he has started more than once, if that, and only had brief appearances from the bench.

His development has stagnated this season after such a good start in 2017-18.

I’m looking forward to Monday’s game. As you know there is only 1 don in Doncaster whereas MK have a whole team of them. They must be very bright. A team that perpetually plays away from home. Just like Grimsby. Well not like Grimsby at all. At least in Grimsby you can easily find your way to Cleethorpes. Usually by sense of smell. However in Milton Keynes you need to be a rocket scientist to find your way around the V1 ,V2 and H2. You could also wright a paper on the A5. Perhaps only a small note though. They have done their bit to curb global warming and please their vegan population by turning all the cows to stone.
I’ve always felt Economists are the most useless people on earth. Not one of them has ever got a forecast right. Speaking of which Rovers could sneak into the playoffs if they win all their remaining games. But there is as much chance of that as me topping the DPL league.
My forecast to follow. This may give you more clues to my degree!
