How to secure top 4?

I’m not a massive believer in trying to predict results at this stage of the season. However I do believe we’ll get enough points to qualify for the CL. Would be disappointed if we didn’t hit the 80 point mark.

Me too. To complete the set of the top 6

Chelsea are in terrible form and won't win every game. If they were to drop 5 points and finish on 72 we would only need to win 3 matches. Watford (h), West Brom (a) and Newcastle (h) are almost certain wins, so I think we will comfortably finish top 4.

But we mustn't start looking backwards, let's kick on and finish 2nd. Every single game is winnable, especially if City wrap up the title next weekend

We should be looking to win every remaining game and finish as high as possible, dropping points to Stoke and Brighton should not be happening

We need to get to 78 points but with the superior goal difference to Chelsea, you can almost bring it down to 77 and only needing 13 points. Thus 4 wins and 1 draw will do it.

Not counting my chickens, so to say, but I will be surprised if Spurs don't pick up close to maximum points from heronin. Spurs are in such good form, and no difficult away matches left. I am even expecting us to beat City at Wembley.

A team that is unbeaten since Mid December, having outplayed United, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea along the way, is hardly likely to be dropping points at Stoke and Brighton.

You facking old caant if we had finished our chances first half you would never had a chance second half. First half we had 70-80% possession of the ball. We tired second half and if the anorexia player didn't dive we would have won.

You had zero chances, only 2 dives and a one in a life time shot which went in.

That’s a lot of ifs.

But yep, you had one good half. That first 45 minutes you were better than us. Be proud.

By the end of the game you’d had less than 40% of the possession, so what happened?

Oh you tired didn’t you? Even though you played at Huddersfield on the Tuesday in midweek and we faced United at home a day later

Absolute melt

We'd have to hope United slip up for that to happen. United could draw twice and we win all our games, and they would still finish 2nd.

You were comprehensively outplayed over the whole 90 minutes. Bin Dippers think games only last 45 minutes these days. Liverpool hardly had a shot in anger either half. I don`t remember all these efforts first half either.

Talk about Bitter.

If City beat United, and Spurs win at Stoke, then the gap is down to just one point, with half a dozen games to play.

No they wouldn’t. 1 goal behind on goal difference so in that event we’d likely finish above them.

Well we had around 54% possession first half, so....
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well your fellow compatriot, the Mane Man is talking nonsense then, he reckons Liverpool had 79-80% possession. No wonder everybody laughs at you scousers. Everybody who watched that match knows that Liverpool had a tad more possession first half, and were comprehensively overrun second half, when the only shot Liverpool had second half was the goal by Salah.

Anyway, why has this once article been hijacked by bitter Liverpool supporters once again? Cano you lot not post on any article without making it somehow a Liverpool article, and how badly you are done by?

Spurs supporters have long since moved on from that match, your lot are still grizzling about penalties and dives. Get over yourselves.

Sorry, yeah it'd be no guarantee with their goal difference but they could still finish above us in that scenario. The point is they'd have to drop more than 3 points and their run in isn't that much worse than ours.

Haven’t actually seen their run-in, but it’s always a positive that we can look at who’s in front of us as opposed to what’s behind us. Always rather be the Hunter as opposed to the hunted

United have City and Arsenal at home, so their run in may be slightly more difficult, then again relegation-threatened teams could be tougher than 6th placed ones.

Between finishing 3rd and 2nd though by winning all of our remaining games, I'm not that bothered whichever it is.
