Out of all 3 marvel shows this year, episode 1 of Loki is probably the most fascinating.
So.... Loki spoiler chat?
I quit after finishing episode 1 so go ahead
It was great. The TVA are clearly the villains here. No idea how it is going to play out but if I was to guess, it could be with Loki eventually bringing down to TVA from the inside. Also a few months ago I said that I think Loki series would have some connection to WandaVision and Dr Strange multiverse of madness and basically the first thing we find out that the TVA are there to prevent the multiverse from opening up again. Don’t think Strange or SW will appear in this but I do think something BIG will come out of this show by the final episode, which could change the landscape of the MCU
Also Owen Wilson was great. Hiddleston acting when he was watching how his life was meant to end was amazing. Actually think it was one of the greatest scenes from any MCU movie
I enjoyed the first episode but as I alluded to, the TVA sort of unravel the infinity saga. Where were they during those events and we've now got a place where the inifonity stones are as useless as paper weights?
Do I need to watch Wandavision before watching Loki ?
I agree with your comments Arteta.

I think the infinity stones are supposed to be useless outside of their own universe / outside of the flow of time. But yeah, it is a case of 'Where have you been all this time?"

TVA said that what the Avengers did in End Game was meant to happen though, and Loki escaping with the Tesseract was not. There are potential plot holes that may or may not be explained. Like Loki escaping with the Tesseract led to Cap and Ironman going back to the 70s. Maybe it was in the TVA’s interests for the Avengers to defeat Thanos or something
The stones are magic aren’t they? They said magic doesn’t work in the TVA when Loki was trying to use his powers.
The TVA allowed the infinity saga to happen, because it was meant to...

So they are basically Gods and not only see the future but control it, which reduced everything that happens now to worthless.

Yep I understand the magic not working in the TVA place but it just nullifies the stakes of Phase 3 and any going forward.

They guide time to avoid branches.
I don't think that means that everything that was or will be is worthless.
They allowed everything to date to happen, because it was meant to, and everything we see in the universe going forward will be the same. There is nothing to suggest that in their universe focussed timeline that earth doesn't get eaten by Galactus.
They aren't protectors of any one species or ideology, they just maintain one trunk of time, and prevent branches. Everything and anything is still on the table.
I would also expect them to be destroyed over the course of the series. The Loki hunting them is probably from an alternate universe/timeline and he might well convince the main Loki to side with him.
Loki has a point to prove to these people

Similar concept to Umbrella Academy then
Though i like how in Umbrella Academy its like Douglas Adams style sci fi bureaucracy
Rick and Morty also had timeline police
Quite a popular one atm
New Rick and Morty eps later this month
Loki is very interesting… I’m liking it so far.
Still don’t have a clue what’s happening, but I like it.
I thoroughly enjoyed episode 2. The time stuff is still confusing but they are certainly addressing some of the questions that I have and the events that unfold in this episode has me excited for episode 3.
