I don’t think DC is as iconic across the board, but then I’ve only ever been a big fan of Batman from DC, and much prefer Marvel so maybe it’s bias. That said, it does have potential to be so much bigger and better than it has been.

I know this is a marvel thread and I'm a huge marvel fan but can we all agree that DC have the more iconic heroes and villains? If they had a Feige type of figure leading the line, the heights they could reach would surpass anything Marvel has put out. Also, one area where DC can stand apart is the darker aspects. Marvel can't go dark but DC can.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think marvel have better characters across the board but DC have the two biggest in Batman & superman.
I personally only really like The flash from DC.
I agree with someone like Feige it would be much better as right now it’s just a mess.

If they do the Flashpoint movie or something similar to that then I hope that Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays the Thomas Wayne Batman as he'd be absolutely perfect for it.
----------
Supposedly he's in talks to do just that. Definitely would be great casting.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Would be awesome. Jeffery Dean Morgan already plays Thomas Wayne in the DCEU so it makes perfect sense for him to play an alternate reality Batman where Thomas Wayne is a gun-wielding Batman and Bruce Wayne died as a child.
Have to admit I'm quite concerned by these rumours about Michael Keaton coming back as Batman. If it's just for one crazy multiverse movie loosely based on the Flashpoint storyline then I'm down with that as It sounds fun.
But if it's to bring back Keaton for a few movies to basically be the DCEU Batman instead of Affleck then I'm a tad concerned. Keaton is nearly 70 so I'm really not sure we need a Batman in his 70's for these upcoming DCEU movies, whatever they might be.
Also I hope that there is some kind of plan at WB going forward so that this Flashpoint movie will tie in with the Snyder Cut of Justice League if that does well and becomes the canon version of JL.

Captain America and Iron Man were pretty much forgotten about characters in modern day pop culture before the MCU became a thing. Thor less so but only because of the mythology.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Flashpoint is being made to erase Snyder's JL and everything that came before that. Keaton will be a older Batman in this, passing the torch to another Batman or something of that nature. This is the perfect movie for DC to reset, forget about Snyder's vision, and move forward with Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash, Cyborg and a potential new Superman and Pattison as Batman.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That doesn't make sense to me for several reasons. Firstly we haven't had the Snyder Justice League yet, only the average Joss Whedon version. The Snyder cut will be a very different movie.
Also why would WB greenlight a Snyder Cut of Justice that will definitely introduce Darkseid if they have no plans to continue it in any format if it does well ?
Fans will demand to see what happens next if it's good and there are reports that up to $100 million is being spent on this Snyder cut.
As for Pattinson Batman I'm looking forward it but it will be it's own independent trilogy, just like Nolan's trilogy and will have absolutely nothing to do with the DCEU whatsoever.
So we're still going to need a DCEU Batman going forward unless there aren't going to be anymore team up movies in the future. And I just can't see that happening.
As for Keaton coming back as Batman there's absolutely nothing concrete about that. Nothing official has been announced and he might just have a cameo role in this Flashpoint movie. Anything else is pure speculation as this rumour has only been around for a couple of days.
Before Thor was portrayed in the MCU i doubt he was that well known as being a marvel hero and not just the norse god of mythology
Black Widow is a household name now too
Honestly it seems DC is harder to make into blockbuster films
Maybe thats a poor excuse but it does on average seem to be a lot darker than the stories available to Marvel adaptions
The best films have leant into that nature (Nolan's Trilogy, Joker and Watchmen(debatable i know but i liked it)
DC being darker stems from the comics tbh. On average they've always had a darker feel to them. Superman being an untouchable God never ever became a parody of himself. Says it all really.
They have the better villains imo when compared to Marvel, which let's be honest...villains make the story. So in theory they should have a better universe than Marvel but there's doesn't seem to be a cohesive vision. It's like these clubs who always change managers and then have to revamp the entire setup of the club to suit each manager. You get stuck in a vicious cycle.
They need WB/Disney to think up a vision at the top and then bring in directors to suit that vision.
Also I wouldn't say the Avengers weren't known per say. Wu-Tang been repping Marvel since day one. If you listened to rap you'd get loads of comic book references. Also if you watched cartoons back in the day, you'll have a fair understanding of the heroes.
Fiege deserves all the praise for turning b level type heroes into household names. Considering the base from what he had to start with when you factor in the rights to some of the superstars in his universe were already owned by everyone else, the man has worked wonders. Unreal job.

Guv I'm very familiar with the Flashpoint story having watched the very good Flashpoint animated movie. Highly recommended for anyone who hasn't watched it and definitely not for kids.
By the way what exactly do you mean when you say it's going to reset the universe ? Are you saying that it will be a way to essentially kill off Affleck's Batman and bring in another Batman be it Keaton or whoever else ? Or to give us a different Superman ? Or something else ?
Personally I don't see why a reset is needed. It seems that Cavill may well be back to play Superman again according to reports so the only stumbling block going forward is Affleck. His Batman can be recast if needed. Not ideal of course.
As for Snyder I don't think he's being eased out at all. You do realize that Zach Snyder is producer in the upcoming Wonder Woman 1984 movie ? He's still very much involved in the DCEU and Warner Bros have just given him anything up to $100 million (depending on which reports you believe) to basically re-do Justice League and give us the movie we should have got from the start before Geoff Johns meddled with things and brought in Joss Whedon.
And regarding Pattinson's Batman I'm not sure why you keep saying that he'll become the DCEU Batman. That movie will be it's own elseworld story just like Joker was. It will have nothing to do with the DCEU.
I would actually much preferred for this Matt Reeves Batman trilogy to have tied in with the DCEU but that isn't going to be the case according to reports. Not to mention the casting of Alfred and Gordon which will be two completely different actors.
