Just some rumours knocking about on some YouTube comic book channels I came across. Could be bull but if we are getting a Batfleck tv show on HBO Max then it makes sense that it would be a prequel.

its a large niche then, there was enough social media interaction that a company is willing to spend 10's of millions finishing the film

The fact that Justice League made half of what the Avengers made is embarrassing, let alone that BvS was outgrossed by B-list heroes like Captain Marvel at the box office.

In fairness, Avengers Assemble made $623m at the global box office whereas Justice League made $655m.

Given where they are in their development and the enormous investment and development of their franchise then it's no surprise to see that investment paying dividends at the box office for the later releases.

But otherwise I agree.

As for Batfleck, I would absolutely love to see an older, more bitter Batman. I want this to happen and I think Affleck would do a good job.

Is there really a need for a Bat-series?

HBO Max could make a Batfleck tv series for less than hundreds of millions I think. Admittedly It would need a big budget though in comparison to most tv shows. Very doable though, especially for the potential revenue it would bring to HBO Max.

Yeah HBO would definitely need to see a big upsurge in subscriptions to HBO Max for Snyder's Justice League to justify doing a Batfleck series. Money talks at the end of the day. HBO have hinted that they might be doing this though. "One thing at a time" was HBO's Twitter reaction when asked about it.

Anyway at the moment I'm definitely more excited by the Matt Reeves Batman movie. Could be epic.

Avengers made 1.519 billion worldwide, maybe you are thinking of the US domestic gross?

I think you're probably right

For the first time in a very long time, DC actually could out do Marvel, at least in 2021. They have a solid foundation and need to continue producing quality movies and not focus on what the MCU are doing.

Yeah agree with this. A friend and I were discussing this yesterday. I think at least until Marvel bring in F4 and X-Men, DC could have the edge.
