Think I'm going to have to watch Rangers this season.

That is an example of how Gerrard can improve the interest in the Scottish game.

Hopefully he can get some good players in and Rangers challenge Celtic next season.

If he bosses the league like he bossed that press conference he will do pretty well

Great appointment.

But bears...don't be kidding yourself about this 'he comes across well' nonsense.

You fell for it with Warbs, Pedro and Murty....none of them did.

Gerrard comes across like a spouse Ned....which is no surprise as that's what he is. Like a second rate Liverpudlian Paul ferris.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Ff...the guy has only ever pumped actual women. What chance has he got against the maestro?

Neddish wee burd pumper.

Berrz

I'm happy that you're happy.

I was happy when you were so happy with Warbiola at the time. Great appointment you said, and I agreed with you. Were going places with this fella, you said, and I agreed with you.

I hope it all works out for you.

You can’t compare Gerrard with the previous three managers. His pedigree is on another level.

That pedigree will be able to attract that kind of player the previous guys could only dream of.

-------

Like Bruno Alves, Niko Krancjar, Joey Barton and a young south American striker valued at £11m? That kind of player?

Would be worried about Gerard's comments yesterday about the 'very good' players already at the club.

Hopefully he's just trying to give them a boost for the last three games.

Was interesting to read Brendan's interview. You can tell this has put a fire in celtics belly and I am really looking forward to next season. Time to step up and prove why we are the top dog.

Great player but that doesnt make him ready to be a great manager.

Guess we will see.

why isn't he in charge today?

To be fair, I think all rangers supporters are aware of the risk taking Gerrard.

I think king made a good point when he said that Gerrard ticked all the boxes apart from experience but the other managerial options had a tick against experience but negative aspects in other areas.

I think Gerrard has thought this through and basically is going to get a squad together over the season that has a good proportion of Gerrard mates and people that look up to him, so hopefully we will not see him lose the dressing room like murty did.

I think his timing is good, because surely it's not hard for him to put better performances in against Celtic than we have recently. For most rangers fans that would be an obvious improvement and step in the right direction.

Also to be fair, our league is not the most competitive. We are already just 3 points off 2nd place after the upheaval and no experience of murty and Pedro.

How much worse could Gerrard be??

We benefit immediately from a global upscaling of our profile and brand just by taking on Gerrard, that in itself is a bonus. It could help us from a merchandise point of view.

It has to be a better appointment in lots of ways to having mciness surely.

Anyway, bring it on.

He has prior commitments and to be fair it's probably not a bad thing that he has a proper pre season with them first, and gives them a chance to play his way in friendly games with other new signings and allows a proper assessment with a clean slate.

Rangers don't need a great manager. We need a better standard of players. Rodgers couldn't compete with celtic if he was our manager with the current squad. Celtic have £5m+ players across the park

I wish the board would come out and say Gerrard is a mid to long term project and set expectations accordingly. 2 years to build a strong squad with good investment with an aim to win a title in 3 years. I honestly don't give a fluck about 10 in a row. The aim should be to putting the club in a position to complete for years to come
