His goal in the cup winners cup final was a peach
Crap manager but what a player he was
I remember him getting sent off against Sheff Utd in the cup for booting an opponent up the *rse/in the knackers.
Can't stand him. As you know, am I fellow countryman of his, and enjoyed seeing him play for us. A scorer of great goals, but not a great goal scorer. Has tarnished his legendary status with us on a few occasions. Managing City is obviously one, but low on the list of reasons. Has had a few digs at us over the years, and a self confessed Chelsea fan. Wish he was relegated.
Harsh, maybe. Just my opinion though.
Not only does Soton stay up, but those S.O.B. Baggies may just survive! It would be epic, although they deserve to go down, just on GP. Like that the Saints remain a PL team -they are interesting at least.
How do you feel with Swansea getting relegated Babyen?
He's a right moaner as a manager
He’s a priiiiiick, but I did want Southampton to stay up.
Glad West Brom and Stoke are down. Hopefully Huddersfield go down with them.
I wanted Southampton to stay up because we always win at their ground

Slightly disappointed, but not something I'll dwell on. I don't really support them, as I don't have a second team as such (if I did it would be Wolves in memory of a friend I lost to the big C a few years back).
Such a grumpy bloke but I’m happy Saints won, my stepdad will have a sore hangover tomorrow.
Anyone know when was the last time all promoted clubs survived relegation?
Well done Hughesy
On not getting 2 clubs relegated in one season? 🤔

He didn’t get any sides relegated. Stoke could have survived had he stayed

Good point, even if he didn't technically take Stoke down, he was a big factor in it. Always thought Stoke should have stuck with Pulis. He had them where they more or less should be.

True but they only really went down this week. He was sacked just after the turn of the year. Unfair to say he got them sacked.
They had the fecking worst defensive record in the league when he was sacked 😂
As for Southampton... As a fan of a club who has seen my fair share of relegations id never “wish” it on anybody as some do. But Southampton have made a fortune selling players over recent years and barely put any of it back into the team. If anyone “deserved” it...

Tbh I did forget even though I watched that match (and saw him steal a goal from Brucey). He did have loads of great moments. A hero from my youth

Cheers, quite a long time ago.
Robb, it’s not just this season the results were bad. Hughes wasn’t producing for them for almost 18 months, he should be happy he was given more than enough time to turn it round.

If anyone deserved it then it's not Saints. They have produced/coached some very good players and done it the right way so fair play to them. Just ask Liverpool
