If Fosun's plans work out and Nuno takes us all the way to the CL, I think he may well be at Wolves longer than Fergie was at Man U.
If Nuno can achieve half of what Fergie did he'll of done very very well.
COMB
Sensible targets: first season back, 8-14th and no relegation battle. Will still make it our best prem season ever.
Second season top 8
Third season top 6 plus cup final
Genuinely think we have the right set up to meet those goals if FOSUN stay interested.
So much will depend on how successful a transfer window we have. I have no doubt the owners will be willing to invest, and the quality of player we bought in last summer does lead to optimism. But it’s rare to have the % success rate we had with new players last season. If we can find another three as good as Neves, Jota and Boly then top half next season looks very realistic to me
2017/18 was only the third season ever when all three teams promoted from the Championship survived relegation in their first season. Will it happen again next season? I think Cardiff will certainly do well to stay up
I think the fans are expecting more than Nuno and the owners at this point. A safe mid table will be a huge success, if we can attract the right players. A quality striker is a must for me and if Mir is truly "one for the future", then maybe we should concentrate on our wide areas and possibly a defender as our priority.
Much will depend on who we release during the summer and what loan players are given contracts. We had 24 players from all levels out on loan during last season, which tells me that there will be many leaving.
I think the owners are looking past mid table, to me a top goalkeeper, midfielder and striker should be our main targets.
I think our players and playing style will suit the Prem far more, and I believe with the right additions we can do better than mid table.
We do need a central defender too.
The club will be looking at seventh as the very realistic target next season, When a club as limited as Burnley can lock it down all season Fosun will certainly think we can with the money we will be spending.
My thinking too Cinci, you never know we might just surprise people and challenge a bit higher, but seventh is a reasonable target for ambitious owners.
