Brexit - The Great Escape From Prosperity & Human/Employment Rights.
There. Fixed it for you.

Please explain how being a part of the EU is directly linked to prosperity? Lots of countries outside the EU are prosperous and we are actually capable or creating our own employment rights.

Buying followers, jesus what a depressing world we live in.
What's wrong with protecting information?
It's about time that laws were updated to reflect the growing importance and relevance of online activities.
GDPR is a pain in the hoop for those having to make actions, but it's also a real opportunity too for businesses to reassess their relationship with the data they collect and consider what information they have - and if they actually need it. We've used it as an opportunity to streamline many of our processes.
Pretty much all you said is wrong.
Firstly it's government vs big business, not the other way around.
Secondly business exists to make money, governments role is to protect us from companies who cheat on diesel emissions for example, or banks who cheat their customers.
Google, Facebook, Barclays, are not your friends, they are looking to exploit you. Even Gentlemen entrepreneurs.

The problem is that this government, if left to their own devices, will erode every single bit of legislation deigned to protect workers rights which have accumulated over the last 40 or so years.
This is one area where being part of the EU has MASSIVELY benefited the "working man"

I totally get that and that's why I said the wrong people are being punished i.e. small businesses. Why not punish the big businesses by creating legislation that punishes people who do wrong, rather than punishing everyone just in case someone over there does something wrong?!
99% of businesses have been using data responsibly before GDPR

I believe you should punish those who misuse data and make an example of them, not create lots of legislation that hinders 99% of businesses (most of which are small business) who use data responsibly.

We can elect a new government at any time in the UK. Not a good enough reason IMO and quite a lazy one to suggest that someone else should hold our gov accountable.
This would've been good to post on your actual election day article.

You can have a look at all the profiles. It's pretty easy to spot fake followers. The fact that you assume they are fake means you find it somewhat impressive and I thank you for the compliment but it wasn't a lot of work.

But the reason they haven't been punished is because the laws are based on the technology and the usage of that technology from the 90s. The big companies were exploiting the law to misuse data. The fact is there was no mechanisms to punish many of the big organisations in an appropriate way. This law is enabling that punishment, and reminding all businesses of their responsibilities.
