LIW, as I said previously when you ridiculed my lack of FFP knowledge (rather think it’s the other way around ) that once you start splashing the cash it doesn’t go far until you become in trouble even though we are well within the limits of FFP.
Think you need to work out a few figures LIW
I never expected huge amounts to be spent, but we must have something up our sleeve to convince Bielsa to come here
but we must have something up our sleeve to convince Bielsa to come here

you really don't need that much when someone is out of work if they are actively looking to get back into management, just look at Warnock.
out of work? You mean "between jobs" surely?
Bielsa assuming he comes won't be here on goos will alone, he is a battle axe and will want certainties. Also I kinda see where Wakey is coming from, a team with Vydra and Hernandez is a very difficult prospect to defend for anyone in this league. So Imo the bank should be broken for such proven players.
If Bielsa comes will he use 2 strikers I dont think so, so we end up with a £10m player in the bench or being played wide?
Throwing all your eggs in one forward basket seems silly if we need a couple of defenders and a midfielder or so for this new system
Why dont people just wait and see who gets the gig and then think about it
10 million player and the wages

We are way under FFP

This is how I see, more than happy for someone to put me right
FFP is based on 3 year rolling cycle.
You are allowed to lose £39 in that period after stadium and youth costs
For next season, it will include 2017 2018 and that season losses
2017 we had a profit of £1m
So I’m effect we can lose £40 and be under the threshold
Now this season, we’ve had increase in attendances, commercial revenues seem way up, saving £2m a year in rent and sold players for over £15m
Now I can’t be sure, because nobody knows the cost but can’t have lost much of not a profit.
So what am saying is, we are nowhere FFP, and have nothing to worry about unless we go mental and blow £50m
LIW, try to catch up and actually read my response.
Yes we are way under, but when you are spending £10 million on players plus wages we will quickly be over FFP
We have around £31 million under but that won’t go far if we splash the cash.
Get your calculator out LIW.
We had a 1 million profit and a 9 million deficit I believe meaning 31 million is what we can over spend during the financial year.
31 million is peanuts when splashing the cash
What you on about with £9m deficit ???
And how many clubs have actually spent £31m in the league and lost it in one season ???
It’s a 3 year cycle
2016 £9m loss doesn’t count toward 2019 FFP
I read that the 9 million deficit was 2016-2017 for the financial year which means it’s part of the 3 year cycle.
Yes LiW I apologize, we still have to see the financial statement in 2017
But my main point was that splashing the cash soon changes the FPP situation. Big transfer fees must be limited to a few.
Agree pal
But my point is, that we can go for it within reason.
And that you see silly amount been thrown around that will be spent.
I don’t think I will, and not saying it does. But we need quality and money has to be spent to get it
Talking to Mike Thornton today as he was asked a similar question about how far we are off being in breech of FFFP rules. He said we can be £39m in debt on our latest accounts so have £35m to go if we want to do a Villa. So we can do whatever we want legally but how much of a gamble should we risk is the better question.
I agree LIW, but going for it and failing next season means 2 years of not going for it possibly.
But of course I want to go for it
Although I’m still not convinced that we have loads of cash to throw around.

Am sure we haven’t 👍🏻
Yes LIW, if we did have cash why bring in PH? That proves we didn’t, things changed somewhat with the investment but enough to splash multi millions.
But not enough to splash multi millions
Not sure if wolves going up has changed things
He’s seen you need quality to go up
For me I’d sign
Hendendez, yes not cheap on wages but it’s not massive
You’ve then got
Roberts
Roofe
Grot
Ekuban
That decent unless the hendendez and Roberts get injured
But you can stock pile players just in case they get injured
Need a top centre half
Maybe £5m
A left back to challenge Pearce
£2-3m
Top central midfielder
6-7m
A pacy winger
Maybe on loan and you know am not a massive loaner fan.
But the squad needs trimming
We need to spend on quality but if we can do it smartly, I don’t see why it would have to be that big a risk

Looks like the budget is nowhere
