Celtic 3 v 0 Alashkert

Enjoyed the game last night. Edouard was excellent. One run in the 2nd half about 5 Alashkert players were trying to stop him any way they could and they just couldn`t get him off the ball. Immense.

Jozo - becoming a liability?

The ref was a joke though. Some of the stuff that went unpunished from Alashkert was ridiculous and that was never a penalty in a million years.

We got past Rosenborg last year missing CBs and CFs. Hopefully we are better off this year as things stand, but still exect 2 tough games against them. They are also good on the counter, so we need to be on our game.

Another thing. As Ryan Christie was getting ready to go on he changed tops. Has he bulked up? Looked like it and was necessary.

Was so impressed with the fitness levels - that team are halfway through their season. The way we moved made them look like this was their preseason !

The whole team knocked the ball around so well - seems the pitch is allowing for the slick passing game. I get what you’re saying about next Wednesday nnh but from memory Rosenberg had a couple of great chances to score at cp last season and losing jozo with others unavailable is a wee worry.

However if we play like we did last night then I’m pretty confident of going through.

Wasn’t at the game last night but was there on Saturday - is it just me or was the sound system worse than ever ? Couldn’t hear a feckless n thing the guy was saying over the tannoy - thought they spent a lot on a new sound system ?

I listened to the build up on Radio Scotland & the PA playing in the background was deafening! The radio guys were shouting over the noise & couldn't hear each others responses (No bad thing sometimes....)

Aye he’s dreadful from corners.

While some find these qualifiers agony, it's one of my favourite parts of the season, a mini tournament we have a decent chance of winning against some sides around our level (or preferably slightly below). I'm confident we'll see of Rosenborg and should be well placed in next two rounds with our seeding.

Really looking forward to the league starting, all the #letsgo waffle is going to make it even more satisfying.

Last night was thoroughly enjoyable. Ok the second half was more a procession but the energy of the football in the first half was akin to Rodgers first season.

I'll temper it with it was only v Alashkert who are potentially one of the worst teams I've seen at CP. They looked like they were a player down for 80 minutes.

However what I did notice was how quickly we were playing it out from Gordon. No waiting for minutes for the ball to get played out

pretty sure Boyata can't play next week, think they get a minimum 2 weeks off after the World Cup n Boyata might get longer as they got further

not 100% sure though

I'd just move Tierney in 1 and play McGregor on the wing, maybe start McGinn....

I've got to disagree here the amount of faffing about we did at the back especially in the first half was mental, a few times they nearly got in

I didn't think Gordon looked fit at all

He was rolling it out to players as soon as he got it, no waiting on the team to move out, get set, get man marked

Thought we were fecking about in defence at times, that said the display last night is giving me good vibes about the season ahead

I've no problem with the passing it about the defence if it is does well and I thought we did it well last night to allow us to move the ball out of tight areas without the need to hoof it

Not quite on a PSG level but the way they did that to us was great to watch

Good OP

Can I just say that Hendry hasn't had a raw deal - he's brutal and he gives me the fear if he's going to be playing in Europe against anything above a diddy team

It's not his ability that lets him down , its his positioning and decisions in making tackles when it's just not on .

We bought two central defenders last year and nobody is comfortable with either of them playing in these qualifiers -- when are we going to get this sorted ? A new right back that we have needed for a season and a half now .. where is he????

He's definitely not brutal, he's had some shaky moments but he was pretty decent last night and deserves credit when it's due.

He's a great passer of the ball and he loves a tackle, maybe dives in at times but twice last night he had no right to win a ball and he got there so he's doing ok in my opinion.
