I think Rose vs Zhang is my fight of the night pick. It's going to be a 5 round war. I expect Rose to get the better of the early rounds with her speed and reach but once she tires, Zhang will be all over her in the last few rounds.

Zhang is too hard for Thug Rose IMO. She will be able to take Rose's assaults but Rose cannot take Zhang's assault. Joanna did well not to lose by KO in Zhang's last fight but her head looked like Frankenstein's monster at the end. Perhaps Rose can test Zhang's grappling in this fight.

I rarely get any UFC predictions right though, so this means the above probably won't happen.

Rose can hurt Zhang and as we saw against Joanna, Zhang is there to be hit and against someone as accurate as Rose, that will be an issue.

Sensational card!

Usman went into the fight the favourite but the manner in which he got the victory was nothing short of exquisite. The right hand was so clean and Masvidal paid the ultimate price for not respecting Usmans striking. Usman vs Colby next.

THUG ROSE. This lady does not win titles the boring way! She looked agile and nimble from the first second of the fight and I knew she was going to have the better of the early rounds but that head kick was superbly timed and you cannot eat those flush and expect to be standing. Credit to Zhang who started the fight well and has been a respectful champion but Rose thoroughly deserved that title tonight.

Schevchenko went into the fight an overwhelming favourite but like Usman, she ended the fight in dominate fashion, perhaps more so even. Andrade looked a few levels below Schevchenko and she was rag dolled and dispatched in clinical fashion. Surely Nunes vs Schevchenko next?

Only reason Masvidal was in there was because they wanted a big name for their first event back with fans and Masvidal could hype and sell the fight better than most. Ii'd like to see Usman vs Colby next and maybe they could put Jorge vs the winner of Nate vs Edwards.

GSP is still my welterweight GOAT but Ii believe Usman now has the opportunity to surpass him. I think 3 more title defences against the following guys would do it:
Colby
Leon
Wonderboy

Oh and can we take a moment to recognise just how vicious this sport is, following Weidmans leg break, which was horrific. It didn't help that the UFC kept replaying it but it's one of the reasons why I only train boxing and not any type of kicking.

Masvidal has never been a journeyman and he won't be now. He has the striking skills and power to still beat a lot of guys in the division but he's one level below the elite guys, like Usman.

Usman has improved a lot since joining Trevor Whitman and this Colby rematch is going to be very interesting. I think Colby needs to use his wrestling because at the moment, Usman's stand up is too good.

Incredible card. As usual I got fack all predictions correct. Nothing in the UFC happens the way I think it will, and I mean nothing. Maybe that's why I love it.

If Leon beats Diaz then I figure he'll get a title shot against the winner of Usman vs Colby. Zhang and Krute deserve a rematch too IMO, and Shevchenko has got no peers. As for Weidman, I am yet to pick up my jaw from the floor. That was horrible to watch.

So we have a new lightweight champion.

Excellent main event. Chandler almost had Oliviera out but we saw him dig deep and come back in the 2nd and stop Chandler on the feet. Impressive from both men and Oliviera has finally got his hands on a title that he was chasing for so long. Credit to Chandler, I didn't think he deserved the title shot but he took the opportunity and fell short. Gaethje vs Chandler next.

The co main broke my heart. This is officially the end of Tony Ferguson at the elite level and he seems to have aged considerably since the Gaethje loss. He didn't take much damage but he was controlled for 3 rounds and almost got submitted again. He looked slow on his feet and didn't have anything for Dariush on the ground. It's safe to say that Khabib would have mauled this version of Tony. Dariush is a threat in this division but i am still not convinced he has the all round game to win the title.

UFC 263 is upon us

Great card main card with some underrated fights on the prelims. I cannot wait.

Main card predictions:
Adesanya via TKO round 4
Fig via TKO round 3
Leon via TKO due to cuts
Belal via UD
Hill via TKO

My prelim fight to watch is Riddell vs Dober. Fantastic match up.

Wow, what awful refereeing in the Hill fight

Not a bad card - looked good on paper
Moreno and Diaz fights were good........well Diaz for the 5th anyways
Izzy was boring yet as expected

Aadesanya was never going to be tested by Vettori, there are just too many levels between them.

Diaz got dominated but his toughness and cardio always means that he will have a chance. Leon got caught in the 5th, mainly due to a lapse in concentration I think but Nate is a warrior and he could have actually finished Leon, if he pushed forward

Moreno Comes across as a nice guy and I underestimated him in the rematch. He looked better on the feet and he out grappled a very high level BJJ fighter. The post fight celebrations were great too. I think Fig has to move up now, he didn't look the same in this fight.

Yeh that's it with Diaz, he generally always gets outclassed but amazing toughness and cardio means he always has a chance.

Moreno was a monster, if you watched that fight and asked which one was champ from the 1st second you would have said Moreno, absolute masterclass.

And yeh Izzy is way too dominant at this weight. I will be honest I am not sure what he does, he can fight in the weight class up and win, but I think by the bigger better fighters he loses as much as wins. However I don't see much apart from a couple of re matches.......that he dominated first time round.

I concur, on Moreno. I was expecting another even battle m, like the first but Moreno clearly improved significantly. Fig didn't look right to me but even if he was at his best, Moreno would still be hard to beat.

Adesanya is running out of genuine challenges. I knew Vettori would pose minimal trouble as he is just an average fighter but at this point, I can only see Whittaker having the ability to push Adesanya hard.

Bad stoppage imo, yeh M'O is going to town, but heck hats off to Moutinho he was still going forward. Masterclass in striking though. Another bad call by Herb

Ouch - unfortunate, but that's probably Connor finished. Not that he can't come back, just best he probably doesn't, and he doesn't need to. He had a good run but go make whiskey or do what ever it is he is doing.

Whole card was a little flat overall imo
