I wouldn't say a draw with Valencia is a bad result.

Wahl a draw at home for United against Valencia is a poor result

No manager will get more out of this squad than Mourinho.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But he has bought quite alot of it. So has to take some of the blame atleast
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't believe you can blame him for signing Pogba, Lukaku, Mkhitaryan, Alexis etc. because even though they haven't worked out, they did look like great signings when they happened, and it's not like anyone could have predicted they wouldn't work out. It's just bad luck for Mourinho. The fact that despite all the setbacks he's faced he got Man Utd to 2nd last year is a really great achievement.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But managers do get the blame if it doesn't work.. like they get the plaudits when it does.

But u said no one would do better. Arent they 10th?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why is Mourinho to blame if Lukaku misses an easy chance? Or if Pogba gives the ball away? It's just lazy to blame the manager.

And it's only two months into the season, so it doesn't matter if they're 10th now. Last season after a full season United finished 2nd. No manager would take this man utd squad higher than 2nd, or even higher than 4th honestly.

So Erik lets get this straight Jose is the better manager of the three in the modern day because he is historically the most successful, is that the jist of what your trying to say?

You wouldn’t. But it is. Valencia have been even worse than us this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Only two months in ffs. They're still a good team.

How much money has Jose spent at Man United?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Less than Guardiola and less than Klopp last summer. Less than Conte did at Chelsea too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can I have the answer in £, please.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
<£400m, which when you consider a lot of that was spent on duds like Pogba, Lukaku and Mkhitaryan, that's not a lot in 3 summer and 2 January windows.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Still can’t give me a straight answer, no worries. Funny how the players you mentioned wernt considered duds until Jose came along. Once again can I ask how much Jose has spent at United please?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Didn't realise you wanted a precise number lol. I just added it up, it's £388.89 million, which is less than some managers and not a lot.

And Exactly you're right, those players weren't duds before they joined which is why Mourinho wasn't wrong to sign them. he can't be blamed for them just not performing at United, that's thier fault, not his.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So the form of his own players that he bought with record fees is nothing down to the manger at all?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is partially to do with him, but when you see the chances Lukaku misses, how is that the manager? when you see Pogba lose the ball leading to wolves' goal at old trafford, how is that the manager? When you see Alexis consistently fail to contribute, how is that the manager? You can only blame Mourinho to an extent and beyond that extent you have to criticise the player, because their performance levels are so unacceptable, it's ridiculous.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why as a coach can’t José install any confidence in these players to help them perform better ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not about confidence in those examples, it's about simply effort and focus and that comes from the players, not the manager.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
More confidence would help with less mistakes. It’s Jose’s fault the players aren’t comfortable with the way he wants to play.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's a lazy excuse though, blaming individual errors on the manager because of whatever effect the manager may be having on the players. I'd blame the players first in this case before the manager.

Of course, I understand what you're saying about players being more confident if they have a good relationship with the manager, but when players are playing so badly and making mistakes like they are, then that has to be on them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s not just player mistakes though is it? It’s not just a coincidence that all these quality players are all of sudden making simple mistakes. None of them like the way Jose sets his teams out. He paid big bucks for these players and he evidently can’t get the best out of them at all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But why is the manager to blame? Could it not be that the players aren't committed to following his instructions? Is that not their fault rather than Mourinho's?

Well yes, he is the only player in both the Chelsea and United squads that collapsed under Jose, so if it was the players fault both times like you say then he needs to be looked at first.

So basically because Jose is historically the most successful. So by the same logic a 44 year old Giggs is superior to any current PL footballer.
