Spurs, PSG, Southampton, Chelsea x2, Napoli any City is brutal.
Luckily a few easier fixtures coming up and chance to rest a few who’ve looked out of sorts.
Beginning to look like one.
Every time he gets a shot away this season it seems to be directly at the keeper.
I thought Pool were bang average, they created next to nothing in 90 mins and if the referee had given City another 2 penalties they should have had and sent off Mane, City would have comfortably got the 3 points they deserved.
Salah looks knackered, a side effect of Klopps high energy pressing game no doubt. Pool only know how to play one way, which is at a hundred miles an hour. They try to blow teams away in the first half of games, then play on the counter second half, but if they don't score teams can get at them as they tire second half.
Teams will try to park the bus for an hour and take advantage of Pools lack of a playmaker and energy sapping style.

Not looked the same since Ramos took him out in the CL final. Getting into some reasonable positions but finishing has been woeful. Wouldn't say one season wonder, he's not a striker so a season like last season is always gonna be a bit of a one-off, ordinarily for a good player in his position you'd be very happy with 15 league goals provided your front man was banging them in (Dele or Son getting 15 for Spurs for example, as long as Kane is upwards of 20+ goals).
Think that's where Liverpool just come undone slightly in that they still don't have a natural, out and out striker. Sturridge is a crock who will have limited game time, and the main front three of Mane/Firm/Salah could all be described as attacking midfielders, wingers, inside forwards, no10's etc. but none are proper strikers (some 'pool fans may claim Firm is, but he isn't really). Wasn't an issue last season as Salah couldn't stop scoring. Looked for a moment like Mane was gonna pick up the mantle this season but his goals dried up quickly. The likes of Milner, Hendo and Wij aren't gonna chip in with many at all. In the last 4 games, of which 'pool have won none, they've scored two goals. It's almost a complete reversal from last season where they were banging them in but always vulnerable at the back; now they aren't as fluid moving forward but seem to have a back line they can rely on to keep them in games.
There's only so long you can go on grinding out results; but for a worldie from Sturridge and a joke penalty from Mahrez they could very easily have dropped 6 points in their last two games, added to an early league cup exit and CL group game loss. Those two moments have kept them in touch with their title rivals, and that can be the kind of luck you need in a title challenge - but I'd say Klopp needs Salah to get his act together sooner rather than later if their gonna sustain one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You make a good point about their midfield. The 3 they play gives the attacking 3 & FBs the freedom but actually on days like yesterday when Firmino and Mane never looked liked scoring and Salah was blowing his chances, you can't really see who else is going to get one. But this is the difference now, their defence looks way better and they stay in games when the attack isnt working so well. A much better balanced side now but probably just lacking a real Coutinho type in CM/AM and/or a quality striker to be on a par with City.

Nothing another £150m won't cure. Just a shame for LFC that Klopp is such a principled manager he won't go out and spend that money.
(“Other clubs can go out and spend more money and collect top players, yes.....Do I have to do it differently to that? Actually, I WANT to do it differently. I would even do it differently if I COULD spend that money" Klopp 2016)
Salah is the Sigue Sigue Sputnik of the Premier League his star shone brightly for one season and that's it,he believed his own fan's hype that he was going to drag Egypt to World Cup victory a la Maradona!
So his head's gone over that and he's tasted the high life, bright lights and has literally 'done a Brazilian'!
Downed tools next he'll be demanding more money it's all downhill from here, probably get caught in a few crack dens in Liverpool then back to Camels and Carpets FC in Cairo as it all comes full circle!

Yeah this is reasonable, agree with this is large part but I think the main issue the last week and a bit has been fatigue - it's made the team look incohesive which isn't a fair reflection of Liverpool at present.
I felt before the game that Klopp should've rested some of the front three or midfielders against Napoli - not to belittle Napoli, but we could've swallowed a draw or even a loss away because beating PSG has put us in a good position in the group. No idea why he started all three unless he's trying to play them into form.
Also, genuinely feel we're missing Ox this season - Pep was complimenting Liverpool on speed of transition and I think Ox was vital to that last season.
Maybe sides are setting up to blunt his talents and he needs to have a little change to the system to help him. You don’t take teams to the cleaners like he and Kane have done then just fall away.

With regards to Salah, just snatching at things a bit he has 3 in 8 so far in the league and some easier games on paper coming up. If he hits 20-25 in all comps this season I'll be happy enough.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How honest is that, Robbing?
Coming off a 47-goal season (and 34 the season before joining you), if I were a L'pool fan I reckon I'd be a bit disappointed if Salah didn't hit at least 30 all comps this season - which, injuries permitting, I reckon he will, tbh.
A 22-27 goal deficit on last season would be a lot of goalls to make up from elsewhere.

You don’t take teams to the cleaners like he and Kane have done then just fall away.

comment by Robbing_Hoody - as a rule I don't trust a man who doesn't drink but I do trust James Milner (U6374)

With regards to Salah, just snatching at things a bit he has 3 in 8 so far in the league and some easier games on paper coming up. If he hits 20-25 in all comps this season I'll be happy enough.
