Well a bad day at the office last night. The biggest blow for me was the loss of Mount.

Any news on how bad it was?

Losing Mount was a blow, we were definitely worse off after he was injured. Lost our attacking mojo somewhat. Pedro did nothing as Mount's replacement (sorry Nick ) and Willian was trying to do everything himself without involving Tammy. Maybe he wanted some of the glory after Tammy's hatrick at the weekend.

Either way I'm looking forward to getting all our many injured players back. We're going to be a different animal when we can put out a side with all of Kante, Rudi, Emerson, Hudson-Odoi, Loftus-Cheek and Reece James in it

We certainly will...as it means the likes of Willian azpi Alonso etc won't be in as well

This is what I say about Pedro on a regular basis but critisised by some who tell me he's one of our best performers.

Well, yes he can be on his day - but how often does his day come around? Very often he's a peripheral figure in games and does nothing to create an impact on the game.

As harsh as I may seem, with so much youth in the team, we can't afford to carry passengers that will perform one game in five!

Brummie, in hindsight we'd have been better off putting someone else on instead of Pedro yesterday. Bit of a strange decision from Lamps as he looked so rusty and off his game. We had the likes of Pulisic who could have come on.

Maybe Lamps was considering Pedro's wealth of CL experience when he brought him on. Pulisic would surely have offered more although he seems to be out in the cold at the moment.

I don't see it as hindsight though Superb, more like Deja vu.

You can only get away with below par performances like that for so long before grumpy old gits like me see it as the norm and pleasantly suprised when he puts a decent performance in.

Yeah you're right Brum, I was trying to be kind. Pedro hasn't looked good to me at all whenever I've watched him play and he's just come back from a month out so I'm not sure what the logic of putting him on was, apart from his CL experience maybe.

posted on 18/9/19

That would be my guess as well but given experience says the odds are that he'll be average, I don't understand why we didn't use Pulisic - after all he is the future, rather than Pedro and it's not like he has no CL experience!

Going forward I imagine we'll see Pulisic used more often, especially in a situation like that. Live and learn.

Pedro was crap lastnight as was Willian. I was just playing devils advocate to people who said Pedro was not involved and on the peripheral while saying Willian was our bright spark. He came on 15 minutes in and at half time had twice the touches and twice the passes of Willian. But all in all both were poor. Tbf to him he’s just had an injury and before was one of our best players, and unlike Willian, seems more of a team player.

Seems like frank doesnt fancy Pulisic atm for some reason. Could have given us a spark lastnight

In fairness Pulisic has looked a bit out of his depth in some of his PL appearances. Definitely needs to bulk up and get used to the physicality of the PL.

But in last night's CL game he was worth the risk bringing on I'd say. Saw him warming up at one point so I thought he was going to come on. Sadly not.

I'd have been tempted to sub him for Pedro. Subbing the sub doesn't happen much but yesterday it would have been justified.

Let's see if Frank goes for Pulisic on Sunday in any capacity...

I see no reason he shouldn't be - but then I don't see what Frank sees in training

agree superb. That chance we had where willian could have squared it to pedro was massive. They went and scored not long after
