The Chelsea Chinwag

I've read comments supposedly by him such as:

"Eden Hazard admits he has noticed that Real Madrid fans are more invested than supporters at his former club Chelsea"

RM for me are for the most part not real fans who are emotionally invested in the club but fans who want an attachment to a club that has a culture of success no matter what the cost in order to give themselves credibility amongst their peers.

When they don't get the success for which they aspire to they quickly turn and become a toxic influence on the club. For me Athleti fans are far more emotionally engaged with their club than Real fans ever will be.

To me that outrage when they're not winning shows how superficial they are, and those comments suggest to me he doesn't understand real fans!

It's been summed up by Chelsea fan(mostly) on this board. Most aren't too fussed about this year if we are going in a solid direction and implementing youth this season for the greater good. Its basically a free hit. Madrid fans would never ever do that

Sort of what I'm getting at, they only 'support' the club for one reason and if that criteria is not fulfilled it's an affront to them!

Maybe so Brummie - but again there are so many factors there. From what he is saying being lost in translation somewhat to as you pointed out the social pressures and such related to supporting RM. It certainly gives the impression of "more passionate supporters" but as young Mr Hazard may not have considered is the reasoning behind this support.

But still there is nothing in his comments that leads me to think he is bad mouthing us in anyway shape or form, and tbh for me it is grasping at straws trying to find one or even trying to spin it as such.

As with most interviews they are pretty throw away without actually much deep thought put into many of the answers

I just think that maybe he should consider his words a little better.

Legends for me are players that, along with being great players, retain that emotional bond to the club and fans long after leaving.

Legends such as Bobby Tambling, Chopper, Ossie (if he were still with us), have that in spades and I couldn't imagine them saying words that could be interpreted in such a way.

It's just the way I feel about, maybe it's because I'm a grumpy old git I don't know but comments like that don't sit well with me!

Bit of a difference brum! They were all British! But yeah I don't have any offence at what hazards said. And I do get bitter and twisted on the odd occasion and pay thousands a year. But all in all...a day or so after a loss and I'm fine. Valencia this week being an example

So it's just me then!

Hazard's just trying to asslick the Real fans. He hasn't done much on the pitch yet so he's just trying to keep them sweet.

He knows he's a couple more poor performances from getting booed by them

He will be back in Jan. He was hardly passed too last night!

Can see his time at Real being very mixed. Especially as the next couple of years could be a slump at Real Madrid. Nobody wants to buy their white elephants like Bale and I'm not sure they have the money at the moment to buy really big and afford the likes of Mbappe.

I've no hard feelings towards him but I don't want him to be successful because that would mean the parasites from Madrid being successful and I find them a grotesque club!

Don't mind him winning the Euros with Belgium mind!

Fantastic news regarding Hudson-Odoi. Just need to get Tammy and Tomori signed up to long term deals and we're good to go

narrowed it down then...that's progress

So James and Hudson Odoi are fit but not match fit, so when do they get thrown into the squad?

After all it was two weeks ago both played for the development team and you can't get match fit unless you play matches!

Hey Brum wasn't it last week they both played in the PL2 game. I think Lamps and Morris are being extra careful because these two can make a huge impression on our season but it's imperative that neither are rushed back and re-injured.

posted on 21/9/19

Yes Superb, that's the one I was on about, the game against Brighton's youth. Both played and as far as I'm aware came through unscathed so I don't see why they shouldn't be in the squad tomorrow even if it's on the bench.

Or maybe that's Franks plan anyway!

Not sure Brum, but after rushing back Kante for that Super Cup Final only to see him break down injured again for a few games maybe the coaching staff are exercising a bit of caution for these two potentially vital players going forward.

Liverpool home is an odd game...they'll be up for it...but maybe too much...tough call

Doubt we'll be seeing CHO and James involved in any capacity tomorrow, they both played 75 minutes for the development squad today.

CHO scored the first.

Good morning all. Well imo we can only beat Liverpool if Kante starts and has a blinder. I hope Mount can make it, but I will be surprised if he can play after that horror tackle, and is it worth the risk?

Loojs line Emerson is fit so will Frank revert to a back 4?

posted on 22/9/19

Morning Biggish, I heard Mount was having a fitness test today. I'm hoping it was no more than a strain as I look at him as one of the key players in the team already.

I think I'd revert to a back four and put Jorge, Kovacic and Kante (if fit) in a midfield three to try and put a rein on things!
