Just the signing of him last season. I didn't think we needed a player of the calibre I saw from him last season for £40m.

I may have been slightly biased that I didn't want to line the parasites from Madrids pockets as well!

Has been a bit quieter on here of late, but it's more a place to discuss as and when things arise, rather than needless spamming.

as it is, the boring international break is upon us...again!?...

Even when England are goodish, I still can't get up for these internationals.
Growing up my dad used to take me to loads of games at Wembley late 70s early 80s and that was everything back then.

But then I never thought I'd see Chelsea do more than the full members cup, so it's all good!

whitewall, it is hard work isn't it. I don't mind when the games on, it's just that there is nothing in between.
Plus we of late always qualify and play crap teams...its a bit of a formality. Get up for the tournaments, but must say im a fairweather fans when it comes to England.

I could handle International football back in the 70s and 80s, when all the games were played midweek and didn't interfere with domestic football.

Internationals are just a big turn off for me, during the season!

Sad, but true...also the quality of international football is now lower than top 6 PL football and CL football, so it really has feck all appeal tbh

Don't think it's any weaker than it's always been. The league/clubs have been improving. International will always be a mish mash of players trying to get on the same page unless you have 90% of your national team in the same club like Barca did for a while.

I know what you mean. Having said that, even at tournaments I prefer to watch the heavy hitters play than England.
