Clubs that go in to liquidation always blame everyone else but themselves

McIntyre choosing Dundee over United despite being a big United man just goes to show how much of a draw Dundee are compared to United. Robbie Neilson will probably quit United and become our number 2, despite us overlooking him for the manager's job.

How are you feeling about all this? Especially McIntyre?

Well he did a good job at County and seemed to turn them into some sort of functioning football team, so that would be nice to see. Haven't seen that in a few years. He was playing at the time where I had a genuine hatred of everyone playing for Dundee Utd. They were not people to me at that age. Now they are people, awful people, but people none the less.

Who did you hate at Dundee when you were young?

I still hate McGowan to be fair, so I'm not sure I've totally grown up.

There was a spell where I both hated and horribly admired Dundee players. Canniggia, Nemsadze etc.

I was quite fortunate that most of my mid to late 20s and early 30s involved us beating Dundee whenever we played so I was able to cure myself of my loathing of Dundee and many of their fans. The relegation season however brought much of that back though.

Every team needs someone that opposition fans hate. Nemsadze was the best player I've seen play for the club. A cross between Zidane and Iniesta.
Yeah I thought that period would never end, where United would pump us every game no matter what.

I went from the age of 16 to 27 without seeing Dundee beat Dundee utd. That is character building! That's like you not seeing Utd beat Dundee again until 2026. That would be nice.

There were many highlights during that decade of wins against Dundee, but right up there was the time that GMS got voted man of the match at Dens. That was a particularly nice moment and just cemented how far ahead of you we were at that time.

How quickly it changed.

I don't think there's much between the clubs at the minute because both of us are dreadful. Dundee are possibly less dreadful but it's like one of us is bald and the other has a little clump of hair remaining.

This is a cracking wee OP and a smashing thread.

A cross between Iniesta and Zidane? Inane?

We are a car that broke down because we had a car owner who didn't know much about cars. The car is currently being dismantled and put together by someone who knows more about cars. The parts are all pretty decent so should be a decent car once it's put together properly and well maintained.
United were a cart being towed by a donkey. Now they're a cart being towed by a horse.

I'm sure there must be loads of players who have appeared for both Dundee teams. Unfortunately, I can't think of any right now.

Anyone want to give me a starter?

I haven't looked at the list yet but lee Wilkie is the only other one I can think of. Thought it would be easy.

Ach..I'm away for a swatch.
