Too early to say we turned a corner. Let's see if we're still playing like this after 5-7 games and the results that come with it.
Can Jose or the team turn it around? Of course they can. There is much more to them as we saw against Chelsea and second half Newcastle. But this team is inconsistent and that's the issue. Teams that have won the league in recent years have always had an amazing run before dropping points. We can still make top four, which sadly is the target this season now. But we need to keep it up.
fair point
watching these last 2 games its like theyve got tired of being called sh*te and are playing for their pride.
i dont many teams will go to the bridge and have chelsea on the ropes like we did. look at liverpool, their fans believe they played well at the bridge, but they played nowhere near as well as we did.
if theyre joint top we really should be higher if we can maintain this kind of performance moving forward.
That's the issue. Keeping it up. We can do much better than we have lately and have dropped so many stupid points this season already.
If we can get a run of wins together, as well as playing well, it will lift everyone.
But Jose can't revert to type. We need to be more proactive. Sitting l back has not helped us in many games. We just don't have that luck.
Hope so. Fingers crossed.
My biggest concern is why can't we just have a decent 90 mins. We seem to have 1 decent half and 1 god awful half. I honestly believe we should drop lukaku and matic. They have been poor for a while now and slow our play down massively. I would bring either herrera or perreira in for Matic and give sanchez a go up top interchanging with rashford and martial
Of course he can. You just need to give him time

You deserved a draw on the balance of play but to say you had us on the ropes is a bit extreme.
There is a serious flaw in Jose's tactics. Why does he change things i.e. attack only when we're are behind?!
The second half displays against Newcastle & Chelsea suggests the players with capabilities are there, it just needs the right manager to bring the best out of them.

For all the (legit) talk of Jose not being as good as he use to be one thing he seems to have improved on is getting his teams to come from behind.
Even in his first spell at Chelsea i always worried a bit when behind.
There's been far too much dismal football and negative tactics over Joses tenure to be convinced of anything after a game and a half
I'm Jose out... But until he goes... If he gets a run going and turns it round I'll be delighted... Club over personal feelings every time
I think what we have seen in the last two games are 2nd half reactions to dismal starts. If Jose was turning things around I genuinely think you would have started positively against Chelsea - but the problem is there is very little confidence in that squad. They tend to start playing when they feel there is nothing to lose (Newcastle for eg) and that’s not a sustainable way of playing.
United are 9th after 9 games which is atrocious given the quality in that squad - it’s joses last season. Expect him to go quietly in the summer
Game of two halfs yesterday innit. Same old chels though, if they had a striker they'd be dangerous. Incredible that they have gone from Costa to Giroud.
We should see if Chelsea are interested in Lukaku come January.

Lukaku under Sarri's system? I thought our banter season was last year
4 shots on goal and 40% Possession really turning a corner? I think it will be hard. A loss in the week and the questions will be asked in the media again.
Really depends on this week.
Lose and it’ll be “Newcastle result papered over the cracks”
Win and it’ll be “Newcastle result sparked Man Utd season”

Can’t agree at all. I think 04-06 was the only time in my life watching football where if we went 1 or even 2 down I thought we’d win.
