Ronaldo is the only player to win WPOTY since Bobby Charlton I believe, of course he is a United legend.
His stats and CL titles alone make his a Madrid legend.
Garry Speed would be considered a legend by most clubs that he played for, I think.
Neither RVP or Ronaldo are United legends.

On this article, for me a legend is player who has played most/all their career at a single club. If you must have such a term at all that is, it's all a bit Roy of the Rovers for me and kind of grates with the reality of the modern professional player.
