But Arab money means the refs don’t award the fouls as they should
City least fouls is because they have a lot of possession and are probably the ones being fouled
Newcastle foul nearly the most yet they have one of the least cards issued ratios.
It should be punished more harshly than it is at the moment. City do it more in Europe than in the PL, in the PL they dominate clubs so much they are the ones fouled. Take the Tottenham game, away against a team challenging for the Top 4, City have more possession, 3 times as many shots and 6 times as many shots on target. Against weaker teams they have so much of the ball it is inevitable that they will be fouled but the deliberate ones that break up play need to be punished.
Whether you like it or not, it’s become an important part of the game as it’s got quicker.
City are great fowlers, know just when to do it to stop a team breaking.
Grated its always been a part of the game even (or especially) at ground root levels. Sunday footie has always been the breading ground of course football (and rugby).
I don’t have too much of an issue with tactical fouling as such, it’s too difficult to police unfortunately. What I hate is this more cynical intent creeping in which is dangerous; Puncheon on De Bruyne for example.
