Wasn’t it simply to do with timing? When Ferguson left, Klopp and Dortmund we’re still doing ok and he was probably still excited by the job. Fast forward a few years and he had burntout at Dortmund, Bayern had become increasingly stronger and it was he right time for a change.

Hard to say how many years it’ll be while we still have Ed in charge. If we seriously want to be title challengers then dramatic change is needed from top to bottom and we need an actual long term plan.

We would have been playing more free flowing attacking football, no doubt about that.

The downside would be that we would have lost the FA CUP, Europa League and League Cup finals.

We would have seen more fist pumps and hugs on the touchline though.

On the flip side, if you had given Klopp £500m to spend, I doubt you would be languishing midtable.

He is a real shoestring budget manager, so hard to tell.

What he has done at liverpool with an almost zero budget is mind blowing

Indeed,

Similar parallels when you guys outspent us through Fergies time but didn't win the league.

Klopp thrives at clubs without pressure.

He would have crumbled at United, plus with his preference to develop players rather than spend big would have gone against the grain at United.

Klopp is far too classy a man to manage a club like united.

Go on then Bobby, what about him makes him self absorbed?

Pretty much everything about him is the club, fans and players but I'd be interested to see you try and explain it.

At Liverpool klopps league finishes have been 8th, 4th and 4th I think. He has won No trophies in three years. Those outcomes would not be accepted at Manchester United
