Not going to happen. The IFAB advisory board met this week to discuss what potential changes would be brought to the IFAB AGM later this month. The penalty thing wasn't even mentioned in their press release.

Yes.

I read their agenda and press releases

Don't spoil his fun, he doesn't get much. Just humour him.

It's a crap idea 666 but one that is served to protect the interests of the top clubs who can afford the best players. The best players are less likely to hit the keeper. However they are more likely to get the penalty in the first place. Ooooh, I don't know, my head hurts.

What, so whenever a goal isn't scored from a direct free kick, should the opposition then also be awarded one too?

Ludicrous.

The only logic I can see in this is that invariably players from both teams encroach into the area before the kick is taken. Once VAR finally takes complete control we may face penalties being retaken endlessly. If a missed penalty means that the ball is dead there would be no point in encroaching. This would only make any sort of sense if “rebounds” includes rebounds off the keeper of course. I still think it’s bonkers though.

The only improvement on that outcome would have been if Fergie had been the Fester manager.

Iwas ... if Fester had scored that goal, history would have changed. By staying down an extra year, they had more time to strengthen the squad and embed Pearsons style of play which Ranieri then tinkered with slightly.
So, missing that goal was to prove crucial in them winning the premiership.
Hindsight 😂
