Southampton situation completely different.

A- Pochettino fell out with the chairman at Southampton and the relationship broke down, hence why he felt he had to leave when s good offer come along.

B - he had nowhere the same level of emotional ties to Southampton and didn’t foresee a huge stadium, neither did he help build up a squad like he has Spurs

He has a great relationship with our chairman despite my own personal feelings towards Levy. He loves the club. So just because United click their fingers, it means nothing. If that’s the case, then surely Klopp is a good candidate for United ? It’s part of the food chain as you say.

Liverpool are a huge club, so are United, spurs ain't.

Liverpool have not been a huge club for years, masses of 1980`s glory supporters won`t change that.

They play in an eyesore of a stadium and rely on refereeing favouritism to stay in the top 6 every year.

I think you should do that Tony, sod the rules

We're going to bring it up at the next EPL meeting - but the private one for the big clubs not the one where all the the clubs are invited. We will let Spurs know the outcome at the subsequent 'wider EPL' meeting

You seem to live in the here and now and dont quite get it. Form is temporary class is permanent.

Spurs can't become what MU are = not for several generations and that's assuming you start winning trophies and then creating a romantic narrative around your success.

If financial rules allowed we would probably consider just buying Spurs, stripping out the assets, using you as our development club in the South and putting and end on this stadium fiasco which seems like it will drag on to next season.“

What class ? You been a bag of s** since Fergie left. Poisened chalice of a club and a utter shambles from top to bottom. You keep dreaming though fella

Very good of you. Thanks friend

I really hope this doesn't descend into an acrimonious affair. As I've said before, it would be nice if we can all act like adults, Spurs do the decent thing and let Poch have his wish and go to MU and then we can all remain friends. Don't you agree that this would be the best outcome now?

Poch turned down a bigger club than United last summer when Madrid came calling, and Madrid are more attractive than United.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Did he though? Word is that it was Levy that blocked it...

Liverpool are not bigger than Spurs now, have not been for a while, unless you want to count titles won 30 years back. Never quite get this huge club bollox. A club is only as good as its current form and current situation. At the moment Spurs are better than United and are competing in four different competitions. Spurs are currently

Top Three
Semi-Finals of the League Cup
Knockout stages of CL
Still in the FA Cup

Have some of the best players in the country, and are about to move into the best club stadium in world football. That is not the sign of a small club.

There's a big difference between being a bigger club and being a better team.

Exactly, Newcastle get 52k when in the Championship. If Chelsea or Arsenal went down they would be lucky to get 25k so whos the bigger club?

Its easy to turn up when you're winning but its when things go Johnny wong that we find out who the big boys are.

Completely agree Sandy. Manchester City are probably smaller than all the top 6 clubs historically and still are. They are where they are because of financial backing, but the point still stands. Spurs might not be as big historically as United, but at this moment in time they are a much more attractive prospect. Why would anyone want to choose United over Spurs for footballing reasons ? We are miles better than them. Our stadium will be better than their outdated stadium. Our players are better. The way our club is run is miles better.

United are a massive club

They are also currently a laughingstock. And it will be very funny to watch Levy beat them down.

They might as well not even bother. They're already bricking it about calling Levy

This won't go away until united appoint someone.

Multiple very reliable sources are stating Poch is the number 1 target for Ed Woodward and the while point of putting in Solks was with a view to offer Poch a huge contract with big transfer budget and that they have no qualms paying out his contract which will be over 20 million.

So no matter what the spurs press officers say, or even Poch himself this narrative will continue all season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
£34m apparently his buyout is.

Levy will be kicking his lips at that
----------------------------------------------------------------------

£34m ??? That all? Pocket change to us.

Our manager is likely to earn more than twice what Poch earns.

He's also likely to be given a substantial transfer kitty.

You're delusional if you think the Spurs job is more attractive. The team's fortunes would switch instantly.

Like City and United. City could put United of business if they so wished. With being only the second biggest club in a two team, United is not that an attractive proposition.

clearly, but don't think we need it in our own press conferences.

Fair point it's a complete head wrecker and the press officer did the right thing to shut it down.

Hope he stays at Spurs
