Good Guy of the Week

posted on 22/12/18

All the fathers (and some grandfathers) out there (and especially the good guys on here) who are building toy kitchens and suchlike this week.

I noticed a few guys mentioning this and it made me think.

Let's face it, societal changes have marginalised the father and the various media narratives around feminism and 'gender identification' haven't helped.

Had a great auld fella myself. Lost him very young which probably makes me appreciate him even more.

Mon the da's. Undervalued and unappreciated nowadays.

The only thing that keeps is going is that fact that the burds will never match us at crazy golf. It's our last bastion.

Didn't see it all last night mate but done cracking goals and what a shift from milner.

If the rumours about Rabiot are true it will be massive. That boy is a phenomenal player and he will improve the midfield just at much as Virgil did with the defence.

Watched him when they played us at parkhead. He was as good as any of their players that night. Absolutely bossed the midfield and will do likewise in the prem.

It's a game changer of a move. You should also get Santana from spurs...not getting a game and would be relatively cheap. Santana, Rabiot and shaqiri behind that front three. Would have a great shout at the title.

Had a bit of a scare on that front recently, playing a cracking wee course on idrive the Mrs produced a out of knowhere display that had her leading until the 17th hole.

She bottled it in the end, but I'm not sure our family would have survived otherwise... I mean, there's only so much you strip a man of...

Close one mate.

When you need to reassert your natural superiority, the crazy golf is foolproof. Never let them win at that..virtual or real.

So now we’re sat in some cafe at the Trafford Centre with two very excited little girls dressed up as Mrs Santa waiting for the opening of the Winderland by scoffing Fruit shoots, hot chocolate and some disgusting looking cakes with wee gingerbread men on top.

They’re happy so so am I ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘

Reading this week that places are helping the Homeless more over Chistmas. Costa, Aldi, Lidl and others are providing free food and drink to anyone that needs it. Also seen lots of places asking people on their own to come in for free food and drink and the company of others.

We have a very materialistic world, it's just good to see compassion, kindness and friendship abundant for a change.

It's so sad that we have Food Banks etc. In our wealthy society, and the numbers of people in poverty.

But it's great to see the Human spirit of compassion showing more at this time of the year.

Don’t disagree with any of the suggestions made, but for this week I’ll nominate heed. He’s oft maligned, including by me, and is very self deprecating in the way he takes being ribbed about always being late with any info. Yet every week he creates this thread, despite the times that it doesn’t quite get much attention, and gives a platform for some of us to learn about folk doing great things we didn’t know about, or even just starting a thread that just meanders off into the normal level of stupidity.

I was going to say I’m surprised he’s got time to start this as I thought he might be out doing his Christmas shopping, but he probably thinks he’s still got 2-3 weeks to go...

All the best heed.
