Hoping to see Slew get a start
I thought Slew was cup tied?
Should be getting some team news in the next hour or so. Stick around for updates.
Steve Kean could give a first start to Simon Vukcevic when Rovers take on Leyton Orient in the Carling Cup this evening.
The Montenegrin international got his first taste of English football as a second half substitute in Saturday's thrilling 4-3 win over Arsenal and could now be in the manager's starting eleven for tonight's third round tie.
"He has settled in well," said Kean on Vukcevic.
"He's an exciting one who wants to get after full backs and really expose them, so thats a different dimension for us.
"I think he can play on both sides, wide right when he can cut inside and get shots and goals.
"Or if you want to play him as an orthodox left winger he can go and take people on on the outside and get crosses in.
"He's a player that will take just a little bit of time, as will Petrovic, as it is a different intensity as we all know. But they are shaping up well in training."
The match could see Vince Grella return to the starting line-up now that the former Australian international is free from injury, whilst Morten Gamst Pedersen is close to a return after a hamstring strain.
But David Dunn (calf), Ryan Nelsen (knee), David Goodwillie (hamstring) and Michel Salgado (hamstring) are out through injury, whilst Jordan Slew is cup-tied having played for Sheffield United against Hartlepool in round one.
"What we'll do is we try and use the squad but there are certain players that need games, there are certain players that are pushing for a start.
"To keep everybody involved and keep the squad, we won't be disrespectful to the competition, we are going to go and try and win the tie.
"The team that is picked is the team that is really pushing and one that can go out there and get us a victory."
Therefore the manager is expected to select from: Robinson, Bunn, Lowe, Samba, Dann, Givet, Olsson, Hanley, Petrovic, Rochina, Hoilett, Nzonzi, Grella, Vukcevic, Pedersen, Formica, Yakubu, Roberts, Blackman, Ribeiro
"I think he can play on both sides, wide right when he can cut inside and get shots and goals."
He thinks?
Shouldn't he know?
What time is KO by the way? BBC says 7.45 on the preview page and 8.00 in the CC fixture list.
It's 8pm, never trust the Beeb.
Would you rather we played a strong side and won easily at the risk of injuries or a fringe player/ reserve side that might not win but probably won't affect our league performance?
A fringe team should still be able to get the job done no matter what.
Team line ups:
Bunn
Lowe Hanley Givet Olsson
Grella Petrovic
Rochina Blackman Vukcevic
Roberts
Unfortunately, I doesn't seem like there are any. Guess it'll be a radio job.
There's time.
Where are you looking?
vipbox generally have all the streamed games. It's less likely that you'll find a CC stream.
Are we on any radio channels that can be found online?
You'll have to get your old transistor radio out!
That or use your phone if it has radio
Phone has less than 20% battery
I'm watching Sky sports online score centre, so far it has been 24 minutes of throw ins :/
