What was up with the ref? Booking Chong for a little trip and not giving a booking for either of the two harder tackles after that (Rashford and the one on Chong).
Seemed a bit harsh for a young lad making a rare appearance in the first team

Who was it who made the post recently about referees disproportionately booking young/inexperienced players? I'm sure it was on our board.

Would expain why Herrera gets booked at the first opportunity by every ref.
Looks like a 12 year old choir boy.

Lukaku confirmed a while ago that the reason for bulking up was for the World Cup, not anything Utd related.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ah ok. Not related to my comment but to the conversation going on around the comment.
An easy win while not getting out of 2nd gear... Would have seemed like a distant dream just a month ago.
Stupid alcohol made me miss the game....
How did we play lads? Should it have been more than 2-0? How were Sanchez/Lukaku?
People saying today was Mourinho-esque, but maybe it was more Fergie-esque.
Make a few changes, play within yourselves, get through to the next round without too much trouble.
Ji. Very true. Happy enough with getting through unscathed.
Jalisco. This is the kind of performance we'd see from SAF once in a while. I think the Jose comparison is that they were the norm rather than the exception.
Sanchez played a good ball to Lukaku who did very well for the second goal
The good news is you won.
The reality is Jose probably would have too.
Doesn’t detract from the obvious improvement Ole has made.
Forget the manager, you can’t read much into that game at all. Home cup game against a lower league side, lots of changes to the starting XI, players playing who haven’t had much game time lately.
That’s the exact sort of performance you should expect given the above. Easy enough win, through to the next round, job done. Forget it and focus on Spurs!
Really glad Ole has five straight wins under his belt before the Spurs game, that's all I'm saying
It was more how defensive we were, allowing Reading to basically dictate the game, that I wasn't happy with. Can't complain too much, but I'm pretty consistent when we see these sort of performances in my criticism.

The fitness levels again referenced by ole in the post match interview makes you wonder whats been going on this season
I've long suspected that our players aren't quite as fit as they should be. It really shows against the likes of City and Liverpool.

9 changes and it showed. Reading were the better team but awful in the final 3rd.
It is a game where we can be happy with the result giventhe changes and focus less on the performance.
It will be harsh to judge lukaku/sanchez negatively given the team were not flying.
One player I watched hoping to see a hint of what is to come in the future and all I see is a headless chicken. I hope i am proven wrong

Harsh on the young lad getting his first proper taste of top level football.
Gomes does look the better prospect however.
Mason Greenwood looks the best prospect in the academy from what I've seen.
