Don't get me started on Brexiteers wanting a hard Brexit and WTO rules <STEAM> . They know nothing of the WTO, but are just all parroting each other!!!

They claim we will be fine once out of the EU, the lack of business with one of largest trading blocks in the world will not be missed because we have the rest of the world to trade with under WTO rules, like every other free country in the world.

First of all, by crashing out of the EU, we will not just miss out on a trade deal with 500 million people on our doorstop, through the EU we have currently trade deals with 68! other countries under better conditions than WTO rules. If we leave the EU, we will not only give up on a trade deal with 27 European countries, but also 68 other countries.

The UK is currently trading under WTO rules with only 24 other countries and territories, NOT the rest of the world.

And why, if WTO rules are so great, does only 1 country in the whole world trade under WTO rules only (Mauritania)? In fact, more than 50% of world trade is now done under trade deals better than WTO.

Finally, WTO rules do not apply to services, which by the way make up about 80% of our economy I think? So crashing out without a deal, and 80% of our economy has got no deal to fall back to, not even WTO rules. What's gonna happen? No one knows.....

And it makes me furious that politicians who are opposed to a hard Brexit are not making this clearer! But nothing seen on the many panel talk shows I have watched on telly about this recently, when the public goes raving about WTO.

Anyway, back to painting, be interested to see other peoples views on WTO later today.

Thank you

Would be great to have a "no deal" brexiter reply properly to this

I’ll put the below, that I’ve posted earlier on this thread, again:

There are 193 member States in the UN.
There are 39 countries that the IMF would class as having an “advanced economy”
33 of those are in Europe.

Where are we going to trade with the WTO agreement that would be meaningful to the benefit to our economy outside the Eurozone? What do we make that would create a trade surplus with the likes of Chad or Egypt?

Fack em, no deal. That'll show em.

This seems to be the bizarre mentality of Brexiteers.
