The thing is if he goes down straight away it’s deemed ok, watching the one today the exaggerated fall was quite laughable and looked awful half a second or so after contact as when he goes down there’s no contact between the players, if he’s learning to fall from contact from the coaches like you said it’s gotta be better than that

The two pens against Brighton and Newcastle were definitely pens. Certain fans on here decided to be outraged by it anyway. The one today was a dive. He should’ve been booked for it. Palace should also have had a booking for diving.
The thing for me is rival fans being outraged is all very boring and predictable. I can guarantee every club in the league has had a player dive/go over easy/exaggerate contact. I don’t see the same outrage when a Burnley player does it.

I’m not making any excuses for it I’m calling it as I see it since that situation where he stayed on his feet when fouled in the box and missed when it was a clear pen he has started going down easier. Go back a month or two and there was plenty of occasions when he was taking kicks and staying on his feet. Just giving an honest opinion on why I think that’s changed right or wrong the facts are every teams players have done it at some point.

Sorry but it comes across as justification for cheating which don’t wash. Cheating to gain advantge is a problem with the current game and a large majority of teams do it which is inexcusable IMO
I’m not denying he dived because he did.. Think I stated clearly in the article he has started going down a lot easier. However like every football fan out there when they go against you mass outrage commenced but when you get one guarantee you celebrate the goal from the pen and if it wins you the game see it in a completely different light? 🤔

Not justifying anything just stating the facts it’s part of the game and even when VAR comes in if their is contact and the defender doesn’t get the ball the pen will be awarded.. If the player gets all theatrical from a tickle on the back or whatever then they will get booked pretty simple..
