Playing out from the back doesn’t mean you can’t get men behind the ball, go compact and play on the counter. It’s what you did for most of the game against Chelsea.

Only when we got the goals did we drop deep

Yes but it’s irrelevant to the point about playing out from the back. You’ll play on the counter at the Etihad from the start. City will come flying out the blocks.

Despite injuries this game will be a good indicator of Emery's real quality as a manager. A 0-2 home loss to City at the start of the season should have provided Emery with some good ideas on how we need to prepare for and setup in this fixture but will lessons be learned?

So far i am happy enough with what he's doing with the players at his disposal. However, the energy on the sidelines which was initially very refreshing - at times now seems a bit OTT and sometimes he should show a bit of calm and trust in the team because i'm not sure it's helpful to them when the manager seems to be frantically panicking on the sidelines, should tone it down a bit i think.

On our day we are still capable of winning this game, even with our current squad and particularly if City have an off day but we do struggle against the top 4 away from home and they should have even more motivation following Liverpool failing to capitalise.

It's hard to predict anything other than a victory for City but i'm hoping we can scrape a draw.

Yeah bit harder after Liverpool dropped points I think, they’ll be much more motivated to smash us now. Could see them being a bit down had Liverpool got a good win against Leicester, then maybe we could take advantage.

Got to hope their attack isn’t quiet firing, because you can score a couple against them. But with our weakened defence, if they’re up for it they can easily put a good few past us

Just hoping for a good performance from us. As long as it’s not a confidence draining bottle job then it won’t be a terrible result for our season. City on their day can thrash anyone. Just as long as we’re not dropping silly points in other games, we’ll still stand a good chance of 4th

If we can keep it tight and make it through the opening 89 mins, then it’s game on!

I reckon we'll win 2-1

I’d be shocked if Arsenal only concede once against Man City.

Sane vs Lichsteiner though...

We are going to get battered and sadly it will mean nothing. We won’t get top 4 even if we win and City will not stop Liverpool even with 3 points gift wrapped to them by our jokers at the back and in midfield.

Have some faith, Bats. City could still reel Liverpool in.

Personally I smell a draw

I put about ¥100 (CNY) down on an Arsenal win.

How much is it in English money,? 10 pence?

All depends on us to stop their wide players Sane and Sterling and not let them into our box easily.

Press, press, press them all over the field.

Can't see us doing it for the whole 90min.

Agree with Bats in general. We wont get top 4 even if we win this.

Last time we won away from home against a top 6 team was in 2015. That's how pathetic our record is.

City probably won't even have to get out of 2nd gear but if they do, our goal difference is going to take a big hit

I would never play Lichtsteiner against the pace of Sane or Sterling. You gift them the game if your manager does that.

It makes no difference who plays Arsenal are losing this one.

Agree. We are getting slaughtered regardless of who plays

If palace can go there and get a win, and Newcastle beat them. Then there’s no reason why we can’t get a decent result if we play well. Even if we play at our best, they still have quality to score against us of course. Just as long as we play well and sensible, don’t give them anything easy we’ve got a decent chance.

Just done want to see us fecking it and making it too easy for them

It's because these teams are better organised. Most teams have gone to anfield and given them a better game than us. We go to these big teams and are way too open hence why we get smashed by 5 or 6 goals.
