You can see why Ed did it, Jose has a history of short term success.

Fair enough. And May I ask you, would you have a acepted his style of play for 2 seasons if a title or champs league was guaranteed ?

That's so hypothetical it's impossible to answer really. What I know is I didn't want him as our manager and said so. I also said I would back him, so I didn't complain on here during his tenure.
But to try and answer, I was pleased yet underwhelmed when we won the two trophies, so probably the same if we had won either of the big ones, though more pleased of course.
The thing is, I watch football for pleasure and excitement, and I don't get much of either with his style of play.
If he morphed into a second Fergie I would have felt differently of course, but he didn't.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wanted him at United, and I would still argue (and have argued) that it would have been a bigger risk *not* to appoint him at the time.
Remember we'd already passed on one opportunity to bring Mourinho to the club, and had watched him win the league again at Chelsea while we laboured under Moyes and Van Gaal.
I had a few reservations about Jose's character and his style of play, but we weren't exactly entertaining under Van Gaal. As for the 'gloryhunter' charge, I think it's odd: what fan wouldn't want a highly successful manager at their club?
I even saw bringing in Mourinho as quite a 'United' thing to do, given the apparent mutual respect between him and Sir Alex, the sense that United was Mourinho's dream job, and the confidence and swagger that he might bring back to the club (and signings like Pogba and Ibrahimovic were certainly good signs in this regard).
What I think we can all agree on though is that it didn't work out for Jose at United, that the football generally was pretty dreadful, that he'd fallen out with at least some of the players, and that his time was well and truly up.
But Ive explained this to you already.

The respect stems from Mourinho being a serial winner. No one can that away from the guy. Behind close doors, I wonder what Fergie would say with regards to Mourinho running united. Didn't Bobby Charlton once said he wants him nowhere near United- in that same interview he explained why.
