If ever there was a potential ‘banana skin’ this is it. We would have won the home game but for a great display from Butland, Stoke are in poor form but in the Championship that means nothing, ask the baggies. We are on ‘super6’ and I have predicted an away win (probably a kiss of death). After last nights result 4-0, I think auto’s will come from the top 3, however, win games like today and we can still gatecrash the play offs. One other thing to come out of Monday’s win we reached the magical 50 point mark, not that we were in any danger, just nice to do. In this league anything is possible and very few things impossible. 3 points today we could go 6th, lose we could be joint 12th, that is how close this division is. Fingers crossed for a win but just as important build on our current momentum.

Another clean sheet will do me today. Maybe we can nick it with a set piece. There has been a big improvement with corners and set pieces at both ends since MON arrived. Pants is even coming and catching the ball!

With a shortage of fire power could we see Appiah and Ward (remember him?) on the bench. Jamie Ward scored two for the U23s on Wednesday.

Also could Pele be the one to replace Watson today?

Yep to retain any modest flirtation with that last playoff spot we have to win today i.m.o.

Interesting Leeds result.

No Bear, today's result wont determine whether we finish in a play off spot or not. The next three results might.

But then again probably not.

I think the top four at the moment will occupy two auto spots and two play off spots. There are probably eight clubs who think they have a chance of nicking one of the remaining two play off places.

Stoke have scored two goals in their last six matches. I'm not expecting a high scoring game today.

Looking for a bit of goal threat from midfield today. Yates got forward well against Derby at times. So unlucky not to convert Lolley’s cross shot that night. Has found himself in some decent positions over the last few games. A bit more composure in front of goal should come with a bit of experience, I hope.

Just seen a Forza Garibaldi vid showing a load of Reds in a pub practising a new chant for Ben the Loon. Nice and catchy. Listen out for it when he is involved in the game.

3,100 Reds over at the Potteries today. Not the most welcoming of towns in my experience. That night be tempered a little with their poor form, maybe. Nightmare of a ground to get away from post match. Frustrating as it is only a 50 minute drive to get to!

First went to see the Reds at the old Victoria Ground in 1963; it was a depressing place then and things have never improved. Just no character or atmosphere about the town.

Bilbao is the same, just grey dull town...
