50% of the fee to be paid

Always thought this would end up in the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

He was a Cardiff player and off. They have to pay Nantes.

Not a nice situation, and not something his family will want to keep seeing in the news with his image as the icon for the story.

But it's not a small amount of money so needs dealing with in whatever way is legally correct.

But he wasn't.

The contract was void.

So what was wrong with the contract he signed?

The other thing thats odd about this is usually when a player dies we get a little compilation of them in action to go with the sad story. Gordon Banks and that famous save being a recent example yet I've never seen one bit of footage of him scoring on the news. Was he any good?

If what Cardiff say is true it will blow the lid off the transfer system as this would clearly show that this type of BS is standard procedure

when a contract is signed after a fee is agreed I would have thought that's a done deal, obviously this is a very rare situation but I wonder how the pl decided this is meant to be void? how far into his career would he have to have been, say for example he was driving to the ground after the plane had landed and was killed in a car crash would that also mean its a void contract?

Someone didn’t file the appropriate insurers.

They are claiming its a void contract because basically he hadn't signed the official renegotiated contract as yet but a temporary one reading between the lines.

A temporary contract is surely still a contract no?

As in waiting for another to supercede it?

Hmmmm

The lads body is barely cold and they're kicking up muck in court over who owes what. Show a bit of facking decorum or at least do it quietly behind the scenes

I hope Cardiff are made to pay it tbf, and a good chunk of the fee gets donated to the family or charity of Salas choice.

You would think so. It is quite confusing but as i said before i suspect its a common practice to get by the 'rules' during the window and i imagine clubs will be a little bit concerned with this coming out in this manner.

living in a fantasy world if but if Cardiff are refusing would be a nice gesture if all the other 19 pl teams split the 15mill cost to pay nantes or even the other French clubs, will never happen I know but would be a nice gesture instead of all the messages of condolences

The PL should give Nantes all of Cardiffs share of the TV money for this season seeing as no one pays for Sky to watch Warnocks boys anyway.

I think I'll wait for the outcome after all the legal experts have done their work, rather than JA606's finest legal brains

Shout. I've watch 1 Cardiff game all season and that was when we beat them 3-0 in what was easily the most boring 3-0 win I've ever witnessed.

Nantes should offer a replacement like Argos did when the lamp I bought was f**ked.
