Without question behaviour at football games is much much better than it was in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Just as the type of football today is very different and wouldn’t allow some of the ‘tackles’ of the past.
That said, there is still an unsavoury thug element who go to games to throw smoke bombs, coins, fly offensive and political flags etc. The police have not managed to reduced this a great deal. The clubs issue statements of condemnation but little else.
The clubs, at their home games, have cctv to identify the culprits and ban them for life. Clubs, IMO, should be made to do this and the vast majority of decent fans would applaud this move.
Seconds away, round 4 - Zac to come running out of his corner. 😂

And to be clear, listing out “offensive” things being sung and asking someone to set the rules to something they’ve already said twice they don’t know the answer to doesn’t advance the discussion.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So we can be held responsible for offensive songs you just dont know what they are yet.
See ye in court
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I’ve never said that strict liability should be implemented for singing offensive songs. I’ve said it would be difficult to do and I don’t know how one would do it. I exclude racist singing as that has demonstrably been implemented by UEFA, and hopefully we have some common ground that racist singing should be banned and the responsible FA/club punished.
We do have laws for assault, and that is against the individual. These laws don’t punish the clubs though.
The clubs, at their home games, have cctv to identify the culprits and ban them for life.

Except when the CCTV isn’t good enough to identify the culprits
“No surrender” (in an Ian Paisley voice). The idea is to use technology to continue the minimisation of thuggery at football matches. That is something to be applauded, imho. The rugby incidents would need to be looked at but not used as to deflect from the football issues we are talking about. Please leave the witabootery to one side and deal with one thing at a time. Deflection means loss of focus as one of my esteemed lectures used to say when I eyed up a lovely lassie with a tight rse 😂

Of course thugs need arrested and rses who throw coins.
Just let's not go all Opus Dei and self flagellate or wear a cilice cos some fookin clown cannot behave.
Not sure if you are aware that Scotland rugby fans were flashing at folk bit that's ok cos they have tailgates on their shootingbreaks.
FFS stop surrendering to the chattering classes and their attempts to demonise fans and the game
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If fans at murrayfield are flashing then I’d have no problem levying a fine against the SRU and charging the individuals with indecent exposure/breach of the peace, depending on the severity.
Strict liability could and can lead to greater self policing, which I think is ultimately the solution.

Not for me, I'm fooked if i'm digging anyone up that's why we pay millions per year to police and stewards

Trust you to bring necrophilia into the discussion

Totally agree. We have police so that we don't need to self police.
I'm not slow at voicing an opinion but I go to the game with my wife and or boys. I'm not looking for trouble on a family day out.
A lot of this is just laziness and inefficiency.
Eg...How the feck do people actually get flares into grounds. Easily prevented.

I agree that the police and stewards should be doing more and are grossly inattentive at times (although the clubs seem to employ the same stewarding firms game after game, go figure). However without having them in amongst the fans at all times won’t they purely be reactive rather than proactive?
I think everyone just needs to grow a set of baws.
I couldn’t care less if 50,000 chant about me being a feenyun b@stard, I love it, revel in it and it adds to the atmosphere of our games.
What needs stopped is the throwing of objects onto the pitch.
Sticks and stones n all that.
Absolute snowflake generation.

To be fair, you’re more likely to be the one being arrested.
