Both driving each other on

It's been an extraordinary season.
Think we are looking at two teams who will dominate for the next few years.
As you say, whoever ultimately comes out on top deserves it, whilst the runner up can also rightly be proud of their season.
Probably the highest level the premeir league has seen from two competing teams.

If it doesn’t happen this year for Liverpool I have no doubt it’s imminent. Especially given I expect Klopp will far outstay Pep

I'm finding it stressful to the point of not enjoying it.

i think city will take it this season now especially after getting knocked out the CL.

With Ox back and Keita starting to show why we signed him it will be much of the same next season.

I think both teams will also make a couple of signings to freshen things up, it will be interesting to see what the other clubs in the top 6 get up to in the market to maybe compete at the top.

I’m not finding it stressful at all, because I don’t think City will drop points. However, if you do somehow drop any and we find ourselves top before the final game, it will be unbearable!

I'm finding it wonderful. It's everything I want from competitive football - and of all the teams to be in a tussle with, it's Liverpool - the arch enemy of United (a team who can't claim presently to be our rivals). Whoever comes through, and of course I hope it's us, they will be worthy winners.

Really? The team you support are currently the best they’ve ever been, are playing outstanding football and look likely to secure back to back titles and you’re not enjoying it!

Personally I’m loving it. Best case scenario is awesome, worse case is I’ll have seen my team play great football but just fall short to another wonderful side. What’s not to like.

Ripley - agree, both side are driving consistency out of each other. It’s seriously impressive.

I'm really enjoying it.

All those years we spent in the doldrums thanks to the cowboys were painful. Couldn't even make the Ropey league sometimes.

Can't see Klopp leaving anytime soon so first I'm gonna enjoy this new status for a while.

Also, the CL could be a real possibility if we somehow knock out Barca. No disrespect to Spurs/Ajax but on paper this semi is tougher than the potential final.

Big ask though. Barca could win the league tonight so will be totally focused on CL

Would be good to see more of the same next season however it ends.

Personally I can’t see any of the other top 6 challenging for the league next season apart from
us two right however that may change. Just a gut feeling thinking about them.

Spurs- may lose two key players in Eriksen/Toby and lack bottle, also paying off new stadium so can’t see them investing much.

Arsenal- Miles away. Poor squad and probably won’t spend much.

Chelsea- can’t buy anyone and losing their one man team

United- miles away and massive squad overhaul required.

I expect more of the same between us and City next year. Two teams with great managers playing fantastic football.

Yep, it's the type of football they're giving us.

Same here.
Last nights game was the least stressed I have been for some time.
Maybe thats a sign I might have come to terms with not winning the title this year, hopefully Im wrong.

I don’t usually mind following games on a stream a bit behind or bbc text especially if I’m at work or travelling. Finding myself using the radio a lot more at the moment because I need to be as up to date as possible 😂

Not being there for 2 of our last 3 games doesn't help.

I like to be in the stadium so the players can follow the advice I scream at them and Pep can take note of the tactical changes I suggest.

I was wondering how City lost those matches around Christmas time.

Nice to see such an honest and amicable thread from both sets of fans who are fighting tooth and nail to win it for them and yet applauding each other for the incoming battle.

Take a bow Man City and Liverpool fans on here

City will dominate for years.

I’m not sure about us. I think it’s more likely that ourselves, Tottenham, Chelsea will fight it out to be the biggest challenger to City - and to a lesser extent, United and Arsenal.

A good transfer window and teams can improve by 10-15 points. A bad window and teams can regress by 10-15 points.

I’d like to think we can continue to strengthen and fight it out for the title season after season but it wouldn’t surprise me to see City pull away again next year and we’re left battling for the other CL spots. You have to respect how fierce the opposition is - regardless of the gulf in points for this season.

Things can and do change too quickly to write the others off.

I'd be surprised if we ended up in a top four battle next season. Sign some quality backups in summer (our first XI doesn't need much, if any, work) and I think we can put in another decent challenge.

posted on 27/4/19

A lot will depend in the future, how long Jurgen and Pep are happy to remain at their respective clubs. As long as they are there I see no reason that the rivalry won't continue.

posted on 27/4/19

Oh and I think City will draw tomorrow, and you will draw against Newcastle. I don't quite no why as you are both clearly better teams, but it's a combination of no one wins forever, and pressure telling on both. I wouldn't put a penny on it though.
