Player Ratings vs Ajax

Utterly useless and I'm being generous. lost de Ligt from the corner and got caught out of position for the 2nd goal.

Agree but much improved second half. Dangerous outlet for us. Also, why tf was he on de Ligt at corners anyway

Lamela – 6/10 – Ran loads

Shout out to Lamela trying to dribble round 6 players in the 96th minute and losing the ball

Fack knows why he was marking De Ligt at corners!

Thudd - what happened to Edin?

it was like a scene from Benny Hill

You should see the ratings the daft bint in the Times gave today. She rated Trippier (6) higher than Sissoko and Alli (5), and she gave Llorente a 6

Tripps was terrible first half, that's why I shot him down to a 3, he probably played better 2nd half but I couldn't give a shiiit

Llorente you tart

Hard to quantify as it was a game of two halves but here goes:

Lloris - 7 agreed with OP sometimes looks dodgy

Trippier - 3 agreed with OP

Jan - 6 agreed with OP

Toby – 6.5 agreed with OP

Rose – 6 frustrating player but came good in the end

Wanyama – 4 agreed with OP

Sissoko – 7 midfield was bypassed and not good in the first half

Eriksen – 6 reserved performance

Alli – 7.5 still comes across as a show pony but make crucial touches for the goals

Son – 8 kept trying

Lucas – 10 amazing and beautiful goals and determination

Llorente - 9 the reason Tottenham won by stretching their line and putting himself about

CHAPTER
I think people are reading to much into the choice of this word.
He may view each game as a page in a book and of course the last game would be the end of the chapter,
Then he says he will be going home, of course he will its end of the season, to go home to argentina to be with family and friends.
Before returning for pre season matches.

Absolutely this, Ajax probably don't train or prepare for long ball football and look to control and defend the lines.

The reason we won was Llorente. Sissoko crucial to the game. To get to the CL final.

Who tf thought we'd be saying this stuff last year

Ajax' defending on Llorente was pretty pathetic. Dragged their defensive line much deeper, occupied their CBs and won everything in the air. Everything.
What I still struggle to understand is how they got caught up the pitch for that first Spurs counter goal. Were they trying to win 5-0?

Think it's just the way they do things, which can sometimes be to their detriment, as shown last night.

Against Real Madrid at home, a 1-1 draw wouldn't have been the worst result, but they went for the winner and got caught on the break. Obviously they recovered extremely well away, but you get the sentiment.
