City said they were cooperating fully with UEFA last time and it’s now clear they were hiding evidence so I wouldn’t trust anything their PR dept churns our.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
On the contrary, City provided all the relevant evidence confirming the source of funds. But these were ignored by UEFA because of pressure from other members.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ignored only according to Man City. Surely it's more likely that the explanation didn't add up?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well then an independent judiciary will make that call and not UEFA or the Welsh Xavi

It's not in UEFA's interest for City to miss out on the CL, so they're not going to flat out ignore concrete evidence of no wrong doing and have it go through the courts.

I’m all for criticising UEFA and the helpfulness of these rules, but to be so sure that this is some sort of vendetta against the club rather than a genuine investigation really just makes it sound like you’ll do anything to defend your club.

There’s no evidence of that whatsoever and given that City are well and truly at the top table of football these days, makes little sense to me.

All this is a calculated attempt to damage the City brand by some powerful forces behind the scene.
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
the only calculated attempt was city's cheating behind the scenes.

Yes spot on.

Fair enough.
But when you consider statements made even before the start of this investigation and the leaks of last week, it makes you wonder whether this whole process is fair.

Also, comments from some Bayern execs as well as Tobias of Spain about City, then you know that UEFA are under immense pressure to hurt City's interest.

You shouldn't have broken rules then if it is proven to be true.

Mancini being paid £8m of his salary through a mock company to keep it off the wage bill. That's one of the many alleged breaches I'm interested to learn more about. I'm sure he's not the only one who has been paid that way either.

Because they follow rules and now there's two fake plastic oil clubs who are cheating and bending them.

What do you expect to happen? Bayern were the first to speak out about all this too. Great club. Something you lot will never be.

£1.5m you mean?
That is not even part of this review.
In fact, this latest investigation has gone cold on ffp.

It's now called financial irregularities if that makes any sense. Kind of like if the police or tax man want to nail someone; some dirts can always be dug up from somewhere.

It’s financial irregularities because the sponsorships have already been assessed and reviewed, that happened as part of the original settlement. The new allegations aren’t anything to do with any additional money at all, so anyone talking about revenue increases either hasn’t read it or understood it.

The allegation is around the source of the money. It is worth mentioning that City haven’t only denied it, they’ve used legal terminology in denying it and said theyre happy for this to go to an independent court.

If that happens and the club statement is correct, then really there should be an awful lot of backtracking going on by a lot of people that seem to have conclusively made up their opinion. I’m not sure that will happen though...

If UEFA deliver disciplinary action surely the Premier league have to follow this with their own?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I imagine those sh1thouses at the FA, and premier league are terrified that they might be put in a position where they might have to impose sanctions on City.😀
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Depends on who you have sitting in the FA Board and the PL.
If you can't beat us on the field, you can always fall back on the Board Room to inflict maximum damage.

We have committed the ultimate crime of beating Liverpool to the title in their record breaking season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep it's all Liverpool's fault City fiddled the books.

Maybe you are correct.
A 2 point deduction would serve us right don't you think?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some Liverpool fans would jump at that, especially if it applied to the just completed PL season.

Well done City, PL Champions!

I think this has been coming for years. In the last spat with UEFA we were fined £30m, and I believe Khaldoon Al Mubarak said then he would rather spend the money on 50 lawyers and sue UEFA for 10 years.

UEFA is not a particularly well run organisation. I think they may regret all this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
UEFA, and any club or individual behind false allegations will certainly find themselves in court ( not a UEFA panel but a law court) and their dirty deeds will be shown in public. City seem really clear on their evidence and will not have been so vehement in their statements if they did not already have plans to highlight the corruption and vested interests at UEFA.

Here's an example of a club taking UEFA in front of CAS.

As I understand it City's position is supported by the audited accounts of Ethiad. So UEFA would need to prove false accounting by the airway. We shall see.

Absolutely brilliant watching City fans squirm and play mental tennis. They clearly believe they've done nothing wrong, bless em.

The whole thing has been a sham from the start. Big clubs don't need Sheikhs to buy their trophies for them. They earn them.

It’s fans of opposition clubs commenting on here who don’t really know what they are talking about.

I wouldn’t be surprised most of those, including yourself se85, don't even know what the actual charges are.

By cashing in on disasters or being bought by a rotten meat seller?

All the big clubs have benefitted from investment at various points in their history. And in order to compete with these big clubs, at least on a sustained basis, clubs would need investment.

City would not have been able to compete at our current level without investment. We’d have been at best a mid table prem club, which was pretty much our average standing in the game historically prior to the takeover.

But people are ignorant of history if they think the ‘big club’ they support became a big club through “organic” growth.

That has never happened.

So all trophies won by United which were funded by selling tainted meat to school children should be disregarded then?

Unless you don't know the history of your club.

I just think people get frustrated when the progress from midtable to elite is so quick, as the money spent is over a very small period rather than over a longer period of progression.

I don't have a problem with it myself and I don't like FFP anyhow as it prevents the smaller clubs from competing, as it would have done to City if it came in earlier and maintains the status quo, with some exceptions of course. I feel the same about seedings in cup competitions also.

There were many years when Liverpool could blow everybody else out of the water, when United could do it, Chelsea...Arsenal. It's football, at the top.
