Moussa Dembele was worse in his first season for Spurs than Tanguy was. Thankfully the board wasn’t as fickle/reactionary as some on here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Even in his first season under poch he struggled with Mason and Bentaleb were ahead of him.

In Ndombele's limited time on the pitch his potential quality is evident. Even in that Burnley montage where Carragher was slating him they showed a clip of him given the ball under pressure, he managed to wriggle through a couple of Burnley players and release the ball for a dangerous attack.

His quality on the ball isn't in question. Even v Bournemouth he came on and was out best player. I really wish we had a progressive manager because this guy could be a huge player for us.

Our best player in a drab 0-0 draw against relegation fodder (which we were lucky not to lose) where we managed 1 ? shot on target....... wow.... that's 60mln quid all day

So not a single player played well under Poch before he got sacked? What ridiculous hyperbole

Cant think of many players who played well to helped us get to the lofty position of 14th when Poch was sacked

Spurs were shocking in the league from Jan of 2019 onwards. That carried on into this season. I'm not saying he's not talented (he is) but it doesn't matter if he's not helping the team win (he cant even get into the starting 11 when our midfield is crap). I don't love Jose's style of play, but I'm willing to accept he knows a player when he see's one (His track record backs that up) I just don't understand all the fuss about him, looks unfit, overweight and quite frankly the Prem looks too hard for him

Like KDB and Salah?

Didn't he alienate Martial and Pogba at United?

Not sure Jose has a great track record at utilising talent.

There were good players earlier in the season for sure.

Ndombele may not be Jose’s style of player, but it is obvious his style of player is for the short term and not the long term. He’d take a hundred 30 year old Sissoko’s over a 20 year old Xavi. I don’t like his shortermism and never will.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg wants to join Tottenham as Jose Mourinho adds new right-back to transfer wishlist

Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg wants to join Tottenham this summer and Spurs could use Kyle Walker-Peters in a deal for the Dane.

Hojbjerg, 24, was stripped of the captaincy at St. Mary's after failing to agree an extension to his contract, which runs for another year, and he has told Saints he would like to join a bigger club.

Spurs are leading the chase for the former Bayern Munich player, who is also a target for Ajax, and are confident of forcing down Southampton's current £35million asking price , in part by using Walker-Peters as a makeweight.

Jose Mourinho wants to sign a holding midfielder after agreeing to play Eric Dier in defence and sees Hojbjerg as a realistic upgrade to his squad.

Walker-Peters has been a regular for Ralph Hasenhuttl's side since the restart, coming on at half-time against Arsenal and starting the next four matches, which have included a win over Manchester City and Monday night's 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.

Hassenhuttl has made signing a right-back permanently a priority in the off-season and he has been impressed by Walker-Peters. Mourinho last week said "there is a place" for the 23-year-old at Spurs but added that the club would not prevent him from leaving if he wants to.

The Spurs manager is also targeting a new right-back but is thought to favour a more physical player to Walker-Peters, who has yet to make a decision on his future.

The situation is further complicated because Serge Aurier is expected to push for a move away from Spurs again in the summer.

KWP probably knock 10-15m off the price?

Is Hoijberg a pure DM? Not seen much of him, but anybody who is a disciplined DM capable of protecting the defence would be a great addition.

i think with the Ndombele situation we could see Hojbjberg, Winks, GLC in a three anyway

I think its an easy stick to beat Jose with (like I said, I'm no fan of Jose but I respect him for what he's achieved). I just think some Spurs fans see what they want to see re NDombele and to a lesser extent GLC. We've been doing it for years with Lamela..... His reputation goes way up when he's not in the team compared to what he actually does when he's actually playing.

Pointing out Jose Fack ups like Pogba, Martial, Salah or KDB is fine as long as you point out his Successes... Lampard, Eissien, Terry, Drogba, Willian Cole, Duff (not to mention those he had with Madrid, Inter & Porto.

I just find it interesting that nobody inside the game (Team bias aside former/current players managers etc), are blaming Jose for NDombele.... He simply doesn't look in shape/ physically to be able to cope, never mind the actual impact on the pitch. I think having been starved of decent new players for so long, i think some Spurs fans are so desperate for these guys to succeed that they can't see whats in front of their eyes.

To me he looks more like Soldado than some kind of KDB that's gonna flourish once he's released from Jose's evil clutches.

If you take Spurs from the start of 2019 under both Poch & Jose, if you ask rival fans which Spurs player scares them, or that they would want in their squad..... The answer is still the same..... Kane & Son.

You can play the Jose way or the Poch way but the results are still shlte when you only have 2 top quality players

Yeah me too, I hope NDombele proves me wrong too..... I just don't see it happening.. Defo talented but doesn't look like he has the right mental or physical qualities to play in the Prem..... Can see him being a big success back in France or Spain

I just love how Eriksen has been dropped by Inter and Conte has pretty much said deal with it, you’ve been rubbish.

Great move Eriksen
