City fans have done a great job convincing themselves what a moral and fantasticly progressive club they are

Wonder when they will manage to indoctrinate the rest of us

We can't all have the Glazers or Kronke and Usimov at the wheel.

Usmanov has never been at the wheel of Arsenal or Everton

Wow, Man City who lets be honest have always been a bit of a Mickey Mouse club get bought up by an oil sheikh from a nation state with dubious human rights practices, have hundreds and hundreds of millions pumped into them so they can buy the best players on the highest wages and hire the best manager - breaking FFP rules in the process, obviously then win various trophies, and also have a new stadium handed to them on a platter to boot, and this guy is moaning about other clubs getting a free ride?

True enough, the owner could have done so much more with that money for his own people and neighbouring countries but decided to direct all that money into sports washing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

They are interested in currying favour and making inroads politically and commercially in the West, City Sports Group is one of their vehicles to help them achieve this.

Pretty much.. it wasn't through any association to the club or being fans.

In addition to breaking all records on the pitch, the club has now achieved commercial sustainability & delivered 4 years of profit. The club is now independently valued at over £2B (reportedly outstripping all the Premier League old-guard). This has shown a huge return on Sheikh Mansour's £1.2B investment & dispelling the lie of "financial doping".

-----------------------------------------

That's the bit most opposing fans either struggle or refuse to get their heads round.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And they did it with just £1.3bn investment and £550m losses. It really is a fairytale story

Usmanov pays himself a fat bonus every year.

He can afford to with the seat prices at the Emirates.

You obviously haven't been to the UAE, it makes this country look like rural Burma when it comes to education, healthcare, infrastructure and standard of living.

How about freedoms of capital? Workers rights? Classification of citizens? Political freedoms?

Did they obtain permission from the people of the country as to where they could spend the country's wealth?

Or is it purely a despotic decision?

Of course, we all remember a young John Henry cheering on Keegan and Toshack as a lad.

They are trying, as proxy agents of the UAE. This is sports washing in action.

Does Donald Trump consult the American people on how he spends his money?

Surely by participating in the CL, and taking its money, City are part of the cartel?

City should take the moral high ground and refuse to take part and either refuse the money it gives them or donate it to charity. Maybe a human rights charity.

Spending lots of money on footballers to whitewash the he fact that you own slaves and imprison homosexuals= great.

What about the profit they make from butchering blind kittens and making hats from their fur?

This would certainly explain why some people felt the need to throw milkshakes at the City bus.
