Els, it wasn’t a virus, was self induced.
It's always disappointing that a youngster goes, but I'm not particularly bothered about Clarke. He really was awful from February onwards and big question marks over whether he would get into the team much this season. If we can get money for him now and £8.5million for a player who made 4 starts, then it's a good deal at this moment.
Hopefully this is the kick start for our transfer business.
I’d be happy IF that money is reinvested in the first team..

Meaning it wasn’t a virus, he was a stupid young man.
Apparently having his medical at spurs today fee bring 10 mill upfront.
How much if that finds its was to recruiting players that improve us is key.

Whine, moan and Nash teeth that he shouldn’t be sold, but if those numbers are accurate, then they seem fair to me when one compares their numbers from last season.
The real test is how does the money get spent.

Mauricio Pochettino is a huge fan of Clarke and Tottenham have agreed an initial fee of £10m.
Leeds had been demanding £20m for the 18-year-old but Spurs will pay the rest of the fee in add-ons and bonuses, while the deal also includes a sell-on clause.
even in todays crazy world jack clarke is not worth 20 million and dan james went for 15 million because he went to man utd who always get taken.
spurs will be a better destination for jack but would never pay crazy money like utd.
