You're just old and not cool anymore. Some of us are still cool. I actually really like whoever these bands are that you mentioned.

True on both points

I noticed more than one prerecorded bit over the weekend. I'm sure Janet Jackson, Billy Ray Cyrus and Billie Eilish all had prerecorded parts. That really just spoils it as a 'live' event. What's the f@cking point?

Kylie still got it big time

Stormzy wtf is that rubbish because it’s not music.
Glastonbury sold out once it allowed that oxygen thief Kanye to play there

Thought Stormzy's perfromancre was excellent tbh.

Tame Impala outstanding!!

In terms of ticket price at festivals there is lots on elsewhere. Not just the act that's shown on TV. The red button was guff but that's because all the content was being shown via the iPlayer app.

Most artists full sets were available to watch an hour or so after they had finished.

On Saturday I downloaded Tom Odell, pale waves, DC fontaines, tame impala, two door cinema club, Interpol and idles. Sure there was a few more but i had my own wee on demand festival. Then watched a good chunk of the chemical brothers set

The iPlayer coverage was genuinely brilliant

Tame impala full set is on iPlayer. Thought Stormzy was awful it was mainly recorded backing track.im all for a diverse line up but perform live please

Not my cup of tea in any way shape or form, but i did quite enjoy them.

Any act/band who uses backing tracks and mimes over the top should be banned from 'live' performance.

Call me old fashioned...

Stormzy is the biggest kant on the planet. Somehow a guy who used to take a gun to school is lauded as some political hero.

Carrie Underwood - that's a properly talented musician.

Agree totally. I mean I don't mind a little bit here and there or a backing vocal. But when it's half the main verses and most of not all the chorus then really it's just kareoke with production values.

IMO a live performance should be live. If you make your living as a singer you should be singing live.

If you want to dance then fine but don't try and do both when you can't manage it and put in a prerecorded vocal where the most important part of your performance should be.

Otherwise it's just all one big con and you're being ripped off.

They should be banned in general. Not old fashioned, just correct. You still get decent bands these days who play proper live music. Just a large proportion of the population are brain dead and listen to Radio 1. They could easily be exterminated via some form of subliminal message in Love Island telling them all to kill themselves. We could get rid of the females by producing dodgy Fiat 500s and white Mercedes A Classes. We could get rid of the guys by producing fatally tight jeans and then forcing them to wear them through advertising as they will need them because they are brain dead. There are loads of ways to get rid of backing tracks and miming. You just need to be creative.

I'm in favour of 'choice of death', where in things like Big Brother or whatever the person who gets voted off has to die, and an added wee bonus could be the viewers get to decide the means in which they get popped, with a prize going for the most inventive/creative.

Chaffed to death would be my choice.
